BrightStar Care is proud to offer respite care services through the GUIDE Program (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience), a Medicare-supported initiative designed to support caregivers of individuals living with dementia.
Caring for a loved one with dementia can be physically and emotionally demanding. The GUIDE program recognizes this and provides up to $2,500 per year in respite care services—at no cost to eligible participants. This benefit allows caregivers to take a much-needed break while ensuring their loved one receives safe, professional care.
What Is Respite Care?
Respite care offers temporary relief for caregivers, giving them time to rest, attend to personal needs, or simply recharge. BrightStar Care provides high-quality, in-home respite care tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring comfort and safety while the caregiver is away.
Eligibility for GUIDE Respite Care
To qualify for respite care through the GUIDE program, the individual must:
- Be enrolled in Traditional Medicare (Parts A & B)
- Have a diagnosis of dementia
- Live in a private residence, Assisted Living, or Memory Care Unit
- Not be enrolled in Medicare Advantage, PACE, or Hospice
How to Get Started
To screen for eligibility, BrightStar Care will need:
- The patient’s Medicare information
- Medical documentation confirming a dementia diagnosis
- Basic health and demographic details
- Information about the primary caregiver
Once eligibility is confirmed, our team will work with families to schedule respite care services that meet their needs.
