Bryan attended Embry-Riddle University and obtained a Bachelor's in Aerospace coupled with a job at NASA he became a true Rocket Scientist.
However, Bryan always had a passion for Medical and after 13+ years at N ASA went back to school. Considered becoming an M.D. and settled on Massage Therapy given financial and time constraints. Bryan graduated top of his class and was the 1st to obtain his license. 2 years later he became a Massage Instructor Texas License: MI3567 certified in 3 states.
Bryan founded Caribbean Massage a medical spa at St Josephs Medical Center with visitation rights for bedside service. More than 80% of all clients were insurance based patients. Meaning, just like with your Dr clients paid their co-pay and we billed the insurance.
Caribbean Massage had unique progressive policy, at Bryan's insistence, where the client was NOT Require to sign a financial responsibility. That meant if Caribbean Massage did not collect from the insurance the patient was not responsible to pay the remainder.
Now, after many years and looking, Bryan has started a BrightStar Care franchise.
Why? Bryan says
"It is the reputation and business model that I found with BrightStar Care that was important. See, BrightStar Care is a patient centered service working together as 1 part of the patients Medical Team. And, Teamwork is something I feel always provides the best results.
So, instead of being the M.D. I dreamt of, I see the importance being a support member of the team and can be just as fulfilling. Medical Teams need someone to deal with all the non-medical stuff, like Insurance, Recruiting, Marketing, Finding Social Services, and such. That is a role I have become quite good at in my previous business'.
Bottomline, it's not about making a profit for me. It is about providing care for those who need it regardless of situation. Probably why I am constantly reminded that I cannot give the services away for free.
