Advance Your Nursing Career: We Are Hiring LPNs in Springfield!

Across the Springfield/Bloomington area, more families are choosing in-home care so their loved ones can remain safe, independent, and comfortable at home rather than move to a facility.

As this heartfelt demand continues to grow, Licensed Practical Nurses play a deeply meaningful role in delivering the skilled, tender support that makes this possible for seniors, adults with chronic conditions, and anyone recovering from illness or surgery.

At BrightStar Care of Springfield/Bloomington, you will find a welcoming, clinically led care team! You will work alongside Registered Nurses who thoughtfully oversee every individualized care plan. This vital RN oversight ensures you are never alone in your clinical journey. You will receive gentle guidance, clear protocols, and unwavering support, allowing you to completely focus on practicing your skills and providing highly compassionate bedside care to one client at a time!

Make a Meaningful Difference in Home Care

Unlike fast-paced, high-volume facility environments, home care offers you the precious time and space to form true, one-on-one connections.

You can learn your client's daily routines, personal preferences, and health goals. You will witness the beautiful impact of your dedicated care firsthand. This could look like improved mobility, better symptom relief, or simply easing the anxiety of a client and their devoted family.

This focused, relationship-based nursing truly nourishes the soul while keeping you professionally challenged.

We are deeply committed to high standards of care.

We provide thorough training and 24/7 support from a local team you can easily reach anytime questions arise. Joining our team means you are supported by a nationally recognized brand that believes nurses deserve deep respect, strong clinical leadership, and the chance to grow while serving their local community.

Competitive Pay and Career Growth

For Licensed Practical Nurses, compensation should honor your essential clinical skills and the vital responsibility you hold for client safety and well-being.

We offer highly competitive pay for LPNs, typically ranging from $30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience, case type, and scheduling needs. This rate honors your professional training and the immense value you bring to a skilled home care environment.

You will work within a nurturing clinical culture that values quality care over high volume. We emphasize RN oversight, evidence-based practices, and heartfelt communication with families and physicians. This dedicated focus helps you maintain sharp skills in wound care, medication management, and other essential nursing tasks provided safely in the home.

Career growth is naturally woven into our organization. LPNs have wonderful opportunities to:
  • Take on a variety of skilled nursing cases in the home to expand your clinical knowledge.
  • Gain rich experience to support future roles in leadership, care coordination, or further nursing education.
  • Learn directly from our Director of Nursing and local RN leaders who offer gentle mentorship and case guidance.

Because we thoughtfully offer both in-home care and medical staffing services, your experience here can gracefully open doors to different care settings!

Qualifications and Experience

To maintain our loving standard of care, we look for LPNs who meet clear, vital requirements.

You must hold an active, unencumbered Practical Nurse license for the state of Illinois. This ensures your practice is fully authorized and safe for the families we serve.

Because home care involves clients with fragile health conditions, safety readiness is absolutely essential. You will provide care with the following credentials:
  • Current CPR certification to respond effectively to emergencies.
  • A recent physical examination verifying your health for direct patient care.
  • Documentation of a negative TB test or chest X-ray to strictly protect vulnerable clients.
To ensure you feel strong and independent in the field, we prefer LPN candidates with at least one year of nursing experience. This background helps you feel comfortable, safely managing medications, communicating with families, and recognizing when a client needs additional support from an RN.

You must also be a licensed driver with valid car insurance. This ensures you can reliably reach clients and gently honor visit schedules.

Beyond formal qualifications, we seek nurses who are deeply compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently within a supportive team.

The Physical Realities of the Role

Home care nursing is profoundly rewarding but also physically active. LPNs gently help clients with mobility and daily activities in their beloved home environments. To keep everyone safe, we want to be fully transparent about the physical demands.

During a typical shift, you can expect to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods while assisting with personal care.
  • Squat, bend, and kneel to delicately provide hygiene care or assist a client.
  • Reach and twist when gently repositioning a client or organizing medical supplies.
  • Push and pull wheelchairs or assistive devices to support the client throughout the day.
A vital requirement is the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds. This is necessary when assisting clients with transfers to safely prevent falls. We emphasize proper body mechanics and training to reduce strain.
