Providing RN oversight on every case from day one
Kathy Lindeman, RN
How long have you been a Nurse?
I received my Associates in Nursing at South Suburban Community College in 1979; then I went on to further my education receiving my Bachelors in Nursing at St. Xavier; in 1998.
What experience do you bring to BrightStar Care®?
I have spent most of my career as a nurse in both geriatric and pediatric communities. As a nurse, I have worked in both hospitals and home health care where I have gained a wealth of knowledge. Many of my years in nursing have been in management positions where I have been able to guide and direct new grads in their new paths nurses. I have been able to educate and teach them, and act as a resource for them when they were in need of assistance. While working in management, I have had to implement many new programs and systems that have made for a more organized and efficient work environment. While working in hospitals, facilities and in the home setting, I have maintained the standards and practice by the rules of IDPH and JCAHO. I have put practices in place to assure these standards are met daily by all staff. Being a leader, I have maintained a positive and motivational attitude in every position of my nursing career. I am currently the Director of Nursing at a home health agency where I tackle many challenges.
What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?
Working in the geriatric community, my number one goal is to keep patients in their homes and out of nursing facilities. When a patient is in their own environment, they do much better they would in a unfamiliar place. They become more confident and are able to maintain their own independence while they are home, working with a caregiver or nurse.
I provide A Higher Standard of Care for our BrightStar Care® clients by...
I believe in going above and beyond with all my patients and families. If it means taking care of the patient myself, I will. I strive to educate the families and patients on proper care and always treat them with compassion and understanding.
