What Senior Men Need to Know about Men’s Mental Health Month

Anchored by the Congressional health education program, Men’s Health Month is celebrated across the country and in local cities nationwide with screenings, health fairs, media appearances, and other health education and outreach activities. Recognition from the White House provides encouragement to men, boys, and their families around the globe, and in out local Delray Beach communities.
 
This month use your company’s liberal dress policy to celebrate Wear Blue Friday, the Friday before Father’s day (June 14th 2019).

The purpose of Men’s Health Month is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. This month gives health care providers, public policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury. The response has been overwhelming with thousands of awareness activities in the community.  

In the Delray Beach area the following CE Course focuses on teaching awareness about men's mental health, and understanding how intergenerational trauma can be linked to mal-adaptive coping mechanisms and/or “personality disordered” traits/characteristics.  This event is geared at Mental Health for men:

Course Description:
This course will focus on understanding how intergenerational trauma can be linked to male-adaptive coping mechanisms and/or “personality disordered” traits/characteristics. Course content will include the presentation of information to support defining key terms above (i.e. inter-generational trauma, personality disordered, Mal-adaptive coping mechanisms, etc.). Further information will be provided on the history of the topic(s) and recent advances in evidence based practice. An interactive discussion will support further processing of how to understand, assess, and draw on the above to support the therapeutic process and inform interventions.
