Understanding the Impact of Alzheimer’s Disease in Portland

June 15, 2018

Portland is Experiencing a Rise in Cognitive Decline, and You Can Cycle to Help!

According to recent data, 11.3% of Oregonians aged 45 and over report they are experiencing confusion or memory loss that is happening more often or is getting worse (“subjective cognitive decline”). More than half of them have not talked to a health care professional about it. Further, for those with worsening memory problems, over 50% say it has created “functional difficulties,”  causing them to give up day-to-day activities and/or interfered with work or social activities.

The Longest Day is All About Love

June 21st marks the longest day of the year, but the summer solstice is also important to anyone who is aging, because it is an all-day effort to raise money for Alzheimer research and prevention. On the summer solstice, team up with the Alzheimer’s Association and select any activity you love — or an activity loved by those affected — to help end Alzheimer’s disease.

On The Longest Day, join Cyclebar for their fundraising CycleGiving Event. You will be able to Donate your ride cost to support the Alzheimer's Association - 100% of proceeds go toward helping those in need of healthcare and support.
