Providing RN oversight on every case from day one
Becky Mclennan, RN
How long have you been a Nurse?
I began my nursing career in 2007 as an LPN and from there continued on to get my RN in the fall of 2009.
What experience do you bring to BrightStar Care®?
I began my career at Elk’s Rehabilitation Hospital working with orthopedic patients and patients rehabilitating from traumatic brain injuries. From there I worked in medical surgical nursing and apprenticed in critical care nursing at a local hospital. After working with several geriatric patients, I fell in love with the geriatric population and made the decision to focus my nursing career in the area of geriatrics. I started working primarily in skilled nursing as a weekend supervisor and from there joined BrightStar Care of Boise’s team as their Director of Nursing. I have been working as the DON at BrightStar Care of Boise for 4 years. I am currently working on my MSN and plan to obtain my Family Nurse Practitioner’s license with a sub specialty in geriatrics.
What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?
I love that I have the privilege of working directly with our seniors and their families to provide quality care. I feel honored to be able to serve families in our community. I am passionate about advocating for my client’s and making sure they receive the best care possible both physically and emotionally.
