Studies have shown that in most cases, Boulder seniors who become dependent on sleeping medicine are more prone to falling. This is a serious issue, as most seniors will sustain some sort of injury when they fall, and in many cases, hospitalization.

Not only does medication affect balance, but it can wear on a Boulder senior’s cognitive abilities as well. As a result, seniors should be in constant communication with their healthcare providers, always staying in communication about what medications they are taking. Seniors are to never start or stop taking prescribed medications without their doctor's consent.
