We have used Brightstar Care for both of my parents for years. We have had an aide for over 9 years named Cheryl Blake who became more of a family member. Her caring and compassionate nature enabled us to feel comfortable in our home. My mom had a massive stroke in 2003 and can be very difficult to deal with at times. She is speech deficient and Cheryl was patient enough to deal with her daily, 6 days a week. She was present for occasional surgeries, doctor appointments, hospital stays and even when she wasn't working, she came to our aide to assist in any way possible...much more than some of my local family members. Brightstar as a whole is easy to deal with and the office staff was always available by phone or email. Thankfully, we had a long term care policy and they direct billed so we didn't have to wait for reimbursements. During Cheryl's vacations, they sent aides that were also well qualified, trustworthy and patient. My dad passed in 2021 and my mom recently moved into an assisted living facility so we had to reluctantly stop the service. However, Cheryl still checks on mom daily. The love and compassion she shows is unparalleled in contrast to aides we had in the past prior to switching to Brightstar Care. If you need home care for yourself or a loved one, I would recommend this company and if you are lucky enough to have Cheryl Blake, you will be truly blessed by the experience.
