Susan M. Beggs: President and Owner
Susan received her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in 1996. As a young woman Susan saw firsthand how hard it was for her grandparents to find compassionate and reliable care. Seeing a need, she decided to fill it. Susan started BrightStar with one employee, a handful of clients, and an overwhelming desire to provide quality healthcare. Eight years later BrightStar provides over 2,000 man/woman hours of care per week and employs over 150 people. However, Susan remains passionate about the clients she serves and the employees who care for them. Susan is married with three sons who fill her heart with joy daily.
Doug Hammond: Director of Operations
Doug has worked in the Healthcare Industry for over 14 years and holds a Masters of Business degree, along with a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration from Ohio University. He began his career serving as an Assistant Administrator with First Community Village in 2001 and continued to work as a Nursing Home Administrator until joining BrightStar in 2011. As the Director of Operations, Doug takes great pride in the growth and success BrightStar has achieved by providing high quality care to our clients. He enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah and two sons, Eli and Dexter.
Crystal Kleindorfer: Human Resource and Payroll Administrator
Crystal graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Franklin University. She has over six years of experience working in Human Resources and is an active member with The Society for Human Resource Management. She is dedicated to the success of all Brightstar employees and has become an important asset to the company since she started working for Brightstar in September of 2015. Crystal enjoys spending time with her daughter Abbi and her husband Jason, as well as fostering animals in need.
Kyle Yant: Director of Business Development
Kyle graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences. He began his career as a teacher and found his way into the health care industry after experiencing it with his one of his family members. He is excited to continue to grow Brightstar and providing passionate employees to those in need. In his free time he enjoys coaching high school football.
Patti Kennedy: Client Care Coordinator
Patti has been in Home Health care for over 15yrs and is dedicated to excellent patient/customer service. Patti came to Home Care after having nursing in her own home for her young son. She is married with 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Renee Hall: Client Care Coordinator
Renee has been in the healthcare field for 29 years. Her experience has been in both nursing homes and home care. Renee has a passion for her job because it gives her the opportunity to help people stay in their homes. I take what I do very seriously. I feel an obligation to my clients and their families. When she is not at work, Renee stays busy working at her church. She also enjoys family time with her husband, 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
Monica Perry, RN: RN Case Manager
Monica began her health care career as a medical tech in the United States Air Force, serving in Desert Storn in 1990-1991. After leaving the Air Force she attended nursing school. After working 2 years as an LPN she returned to school for her RN. Monica is originally from West Virginia but has lived in Columbus since 2010. Monica is married with 1 daughter who attends Columbus State.
Paige Priest, LPN: Director of Quality Assurance
Paige graduate with her LPN in 1992. She has dedicated her nursing careeer to the care of medically fragile children for 24 years. She is certified as a BLS, CPR, AED and First Aide instructor. Paige enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends and her 5 dogs.
Joan Thompson: Client Care Coordinator
Joan has been in healthcare for 10 years with her focus being in nursing homes and healthcare transportation. Joan is dedicated to her clients and their patients as well as the success of BrightStar. She is married with 4 children and she enjoys camping and sporting events.
Aubrie Millward, LPN: Client Care Coordinator
Jackie Moritz: Administrative Assistant
Jackie was born and raised in Central Ohio and currently lives in Hilliard with her wonderful husband Don and dog Riley. She has three kids all who either graduated from or are currently attending Ohio University. Jackie enjoys being with family and taking trips to Walt Disney World. Jackie grew up with deaf parents and learned sign language before she could even speak. She admiresher parents the most because they never let their deafness prevent them from accomplishing so much.
