Andy Ray: Leader Bright Star Care Mesa / Gilbert
I joined the BrightStar care team in September of 2019. As the leader of the Mesa / Gilbert team I have the honor to engage with and watch our BrightStar RockStars come into the office and go into the field each day to make a difference in our community. Their passion, integrity, honesty, and desire to serve is evident in all that they do. As a team we operate with one agenda, to deliver exceptional care to the patients, families and physicians that kindly give us the opportunity to do so. Having worked in Healthcare for more than 30 years, I have always felt that if we do a great job, each minute of our day, people’s lives are improved, families are comforted, and our community becomes stronger.
Cara Usry: Director of Nursing
I joined BrightStar in May of 2014 as a PRN Field Nurse and quickly realized that I love the home health care field and the people we care for. During my time at BrightStar, I have also served as the Clinical Supervisor and transitioned to the role of DON in December 2019. I have a background in med-surg nursing and wound care. As the DON, I supervise the clinicians and caregivers who are out in the field, I provide education and training to field staff and manage the quality plan which ensures that we are meeting or exceeding the BrightStar standards. I feel so fortunate to be able to come to work every day and I love what I do. I work with a fantastic team of people in the office and out in the field who make it great, do the right thing, are open and honest, do what they say and serve with passion every single day.
April Baker: Director Operations
My Home Health adventure started in 2006 as an Admin Assistant. I learned about the gift of helping people through the service of Home Health and knew that this is my calling. I found my home with BrightStar Care Mesa/Gilbert in 2013 and I have been fortunate to work in several areas of the business moving my way up to Director of Operation in 2019. When I do my job correctly, the team works as one team with one agenda, to ensure that we provide exceptional care. We strive to say yes and get it right the first time, but if we make a mistake, I see it as a chance to improve which enables the team to grow and develop and provide even greater service to our community.
Karen Donald: Director of Operations Private Duty & Staffing
I have worked for BrightStar Care for 4 years. Best company I have ever worked with. Working at BrightStar Care Gilbert/Mesa I am surrounded by a team of compassionate, hardworking, and uplifting people. We are truly working for the good of others. When people are in crisis, trying to solve the problem of how to get help in the home, they call me, and I can help. As Director of Operations, Private Duty, I make sure our communication between the office, field staff and the client all come together to meet the needs of both caregiver and clients. Our goal is to match up one caregiver with one client. My commitment to our clients is that we will provide the highest level of service within this Industry. I work for BrightStar because BrightStar works for the needs of others.
Jessica Campillo Veteran Affairs Service Leader
I have been in the Home Health Industry for over 10 years. I have been with Brightstar Care over 4 years and the last 2 years as the Billing Manager. Working for a company that helps people stay in their home, get better care, and live longer is a wonderful feeling. I have the privilege to work with a wonderful office and field team that strive to make every day great for each of our clients. I could not imagine working anywhere else.
Candance Truscott: Skilled Intake Coordinator
I have worked in and around healthcare, insurance companies and physician offices for several years and just really enjoy helping people get the care they need. In my role as the Skilled Intake Coordinator, I engage with insurance companies, physician offices, families and of course the patient to schedule skilled services. I will then select an RN (Registered Nurse) from our team who has the right skill sets to go to the client’s home and perform services. I remain in close contact with the RN and Client to ensure that every goes and planned and when complete let our operations team know that the service was performed.
Russell Amparano Client Care Manager
I have been working with dependent adults and seniors for more than ten years in assisted living facilities, and I have participated in all aspects of non-medical care from direct caregiving to executive positions. When I started my career, I was going to school to become a mechanical engineer and started as a caregiver part-time. I quickly realized that working with people was going to be much more fulfilling for me than drawing lines on a screen! I relocated to Arizona from California in 2020 and aside from having to learn what “the valley” is here compared to what I’ve known it to be all my life, it has been a great transition! I decided to join BrightStar Care because the company’s philosophy and mission closely align with my goals and what I’m passionate about: providing compassionate and skilled care with a personal touch! Coming from assisted living facilities I know the value of having one on one care for the people we care about the most! I look forward to serving our clients across the valley and helping to make a difference in people’s lives!
DeVante Miller: Client Care Specialist
I joined BrightStar Care after many years working in group homes and facilities. While that was enjoyable, matching caregivers and clients is so much more rewarding. If I do my job right, the client gets one of our exceptional team assigned to them with the intent to deliver the care that they desire. On the caregiver side, if I match them correctly to the client, they are able to quickly develop the trust that is needed to ensure that safe and professional care is delivered all with a smile.
Paula Jiles: Team Retention Specialist
Originally a Southern California native, I earned my BA at the University of California, Irvine in 2006. Having worked in both the public and private sectors, I moved to the Valley of the Sun in summer 2012 and it has been one of the best decisions I have made to date! I have over 15 years’ experience leading teams in the beauty and sales industry in everything from makeup artistry to massage therapy-with a serious passion for people, self-care, and wellness. My titles have ranged from District Category Specialist to General Manager. Due to my passion for people, I have always considered pursuing a career in Human Resources. So when I got the call from BSC Mesa/Gilbert, I was excited to accept the role of HR/Retention Specialist. It is my responsibility to take care of and nurture our team, which it is my pleasure to do. So feel free to contact me as I am here for you.
Rose Brooks: Field Client Coordinator
I am a passionate, hardworking, and dedicated Caregiver. I joined BrightStar Care as a CNA and was quickly promoted to a newly created position of Field Client Coordinator. I love this role because I work closely with the office team to ensure that we match the right Client to the right Caregiver. When a new client starts with BrightStar Care, I have the privilege of being their caregiver for the first shift. This allows me to engage directly with the client and to fully understand their needs. Working with our Client Care Coordinators we select the right caregiver. I take the new caregiver to the next shift and personally introduce and train the new caregiver. Putting smiles on our clients' face is so personally rewarding.
Karen Punzalan-Lacanlale: Client Specialist
I joined BrightStar care to introduce our amazing team, best in class home care, and skilled nursing services to our community. I work to ensure that we can service our community by engaging with a client and their family to fully understand their needs. I then work with our team to meet and exceed their expectations as begin an RN, providing quality care is in my DNA, and BrightStar Care provides me the opportunity to provide that care to such a special community.
Daynee Passion: Talent Acquisition
I joined BrightStar Care as an Administrative Assistant and became passionate about the work that we do and wanted to help the caregivers in community find and join our team as we are simply the best of the best. We care about our caregivers, strive to make them successful and work each day to put a smile on their face by helping them do what they love: Provide exceptional care to the families, clients and physicians that allow us to do so.
Joselle Layug: Digital Services Coordinator
I help make sure that no matter where you look you will find us. Be it on Face book, my CNA, local advertising and or just word of mouth my job is to make sure that if you need care you find the best of the best in the Mesa Gilbert area. Personally, while I could do this for any company, I am so excited about the work that we do as when we do it well people’s lives are made better and that makes me feel immensely proud. #BrightStarRockStars
