How long have you been a Nurse? I have been a nurse for over 30 years. I received my nursing degree from MaryCrest College in Davenport, Iowa. What experience do you bring to BrightStar Care®? I have worked mostly in Cardiovascular nursing throughout my career- in Open Heart ICU, Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology labs as a direct care RN. I had the honor of starting the Cardiac Transplant program at St. Vincent and served there for 17 years as a coordinator and manager In leadership roles, I have additionally served as a Director of Ambulatory Cardiology and was instrumental in the development and opening of a new cardiovascular hospital for IU Health as manager of the Cath/EP labs and Short Stay departments. I have also managed a 48 bed Medical/ Renal/ Oncology Unit. I am currently working toward a Certification in Geriatric Care. What aspect of your job are you most passionate about? I am honored each day to serve others as a nurse; to be able to impact their health, provide care, education and support when they need it the most, and to hopefully make a difference in the quality of their lives. I provide A Higher Standard of Care for our BrightStar Care® clients by… Treating them all as family. It is important for me to get to know our clients as individuals and understand what is most important to them. I strive to combine my nursing experience and passion for high level care to achieve quality and safety for each client within their home setting. What do you enjoy when not working? Spending time with my family first and foremost; also gardening, sewing, travel and theater. I am also involved in my church activities and ministries through St. Monica Food Pantry at the Witherspoon Church and St. Vincent de Paul.
