At BrightStar Care, we understand that it can be difficult to navigate the many rivers of information regarding eldercare and senior services. If you are the child or primary caregiver for an aging parent or elderly person, sometimes you simply need pointed in the right direction to provide better care for your aging loved one. Of course, you can contact us at BrightStar Care whenever you have eldercare questions, especially those concerning seniors who might need assistance while living at home or in the caregiver's home. But we also understand that you might have questions or concerns that are best addressed by specific senior service agencies or service providers. So, here, using information gathered from online and other sources, we present 13 resources to help you get the information you need about aging and eldercare services in Central Indiana. 2-1-1 This is the national abbreviated telephone dialing code to obtain free and confidential information on health and human services, including housing, home repairs, employment, legal aid and counseling. Phone: Simply dial 211.  
CICOA: Central Indiana Council On Aging CICOA provides information, advocacy and support services for older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers. Their aim of this private, not-for-profit agency is to help seniors and disabled persons of any age remain comfortably and safely at home and out of institutional care. National Council on Aging's Benefits CheckUp This online resource from the National Council on Aging (NCOA) provides information about federal, state, local and private programs that may help pay for prescription drugs, utility bills, meals, health care and other needs. Senior Law Project / Indiana Legal Services The Senior Law Project of Indiana Legal Services is funded in part by CICOA to assist low-income seniors with free legal services, helpful booklets regarding senior law issues, and referrals to attorneys specializing in senior law. National Senior Citizens Law Center The National Senior Citizens Law Center provides education and counseling to local advocates who work with older adults.
