At BrightStar Care of East Orlando / Lake Nona, we often see how poor sleep affects the people we care for. Not getting enough rest doesn’t just make you tired, over time it can impact your mood, health, and even your skin.
Here are some common signs that someone may not be sleeping well:
  • Feeling unusually tired or sleepy during the day
  • Trouble focusing or remembering things
  • Skin changes like puffiness or dark circles
  • Increased appetite or cravings, especially for carbs or sweets
  • A weakened immune system
  • Emotional ups and downs, irritability, or increased sensitivity
How to Improve Your Sleep
  1. Keep a regular sleep schedule and go to bed and wake up at the same time every day
  2. Make your bedroom a restful place: dark, cool, and quiet
  3. Cut back on caffeine late in the day and avoid heavy meals before bedtime
  4. Get gentle exercise during the day to help regulate sleep
  5. If poor sleep persists, seek help from a caregiver or doctor
At BrightStar Care of East Orlando / Lake Nona, we support more than just physical needs. We encourage healthy sleep habits because rest is essential for overall well-being.
