We are pleased to announce that Kwabena (Kay) Adjei has joined BrightStar Care of Fairfax as our new Director of Nursing effective Monday, August 24th.
Kay earned his Bachelors degree in Nursing from George Mason and is currently working on earning his Masters degree. Hew most recently the served as the Director of Nursing at The Insight Center in Fairfax, where he led the team there for 2 years in providing daytime activities and care for those suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Prior to The Insight Center Kay was a nurse at Virginia Hospital Center, where he worked in a variety of units providing nursing services including infusions, NG tube insertions, PICC and central line insertion/care, vent/trach care, and medication management. He brings a depth of experience in skilled nursing as well as dementia and pediatric care and we are certain he will be a great addition to our team.
Why did you pursue nursing? "I went for my LPN right out of high school because of a recommendation from my sister who is a Nurse Practitioner. I found that I enjoyed helping people recover and being someone they can talk to and interact with."
