I am the owner and CEO of BrightStar Care of Huntington Beach & Costa Mesa.  After an extensive search, I invested in this BrightStar agency because the brand values matched my ideas of what a home care company should be doing for its clients.  That was 10 years ago, after watching how beneficial it was for my parents to be able to age in the comfort of their home.

This year, my team and I are celebrating our 12th year of promoting those BrightStar brand values. The success we have is because of them. I am proud of my office team who treat each call from a customer or care staff as an opportunity to serve. I value deeply the work that our caregivers and nurses do in the homes of our clients. We do not take for granted the trust that our clients put in us by letting us into their homes.

I hope to serve as many families in my area of service as I can with quality home care, compatible caregiving and a very high standard of care.

When I'm not working with my team, I enjoy gardening, reading and walking our pups.

Elizabeth is the Branch Manager at BrightStar Care of Huntington Beach and Long Beach, where she oversees day-to-day operations with a hands-on, people-first approach. With six years in the home care industry, she brings a unique blend of service, empathy, and efficiency to her leadership role. Elizabeth’s favorite aspect of the job is seeing the real-life impact our care has on clients and their families—and helping her team thrive in the process. 

A lover of baking and hiking, Elizabeth balances her work life with sweet treats and scenic trails. Her go-to morning essential? Coffee—always. Known around the office for her warmth, reliability, and a serious love for cookies and chips, Elizabeth keeps the team motivated and the operations running smoothly. 

Cathy is the Director of Nursing at BrightStar Care of Huntington Beach and Long Beach, bringing decades of clinical experience and leadership to the team. Her nursing journey has taken her across the globe—including a particularly memorable and challenging year working as an RN in Saudi Arabia in 1981. Known for her calm presence, deep compassion, and clinical expertise, Cathy plays a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of care for our clients and supporting the professional growth of our caregiving staff. 

Outside of work, Cathy is a lifelong music fan and her first concert was none other than The Beatles. She’s also a dedicated animal lover and supports various animal rescue charities. With her global experience and local heart, Cathy brings wisdom, warmth, and world-class care to everything she does. 

Debby is a seasoned Registered Nurse with over 25 years of experience, bringing a strong background in trauma care and workers’ compensation to the BrightStar Care team. Her clinical expertise is matched by her impressive achievement of becoming a Legal Nurse. Known for her attention to detail, Debby is a trusted resource for clients and colleagues alike. 

Outside of work, Debby enjoys riding her beach bike along the boardwalk to relax and recharge. A music lover at heart, her first concert was Boston—whom she proudly saw again 40 years later. 

Helena is the Director of Sales at BrightStar Care of Huntington Beach and Long Beach, bringing over 20 years of experience in the medical field. Her background spans pharmaceutical sales, geriatrics, case management, hospice care, and work within assisted living facilities. With a strong foundation in business development and community outreach, Helena is passionate about building meaningful relationships that help seniors receive the care and support they deserve. Her genuine love for connecting with patients and partners is at the heart of her work. 

Helena’s favorite part of working at BrightStar Care is being surrounded by a team that values collaboration, creativity, and compassion. She believes that when a team truly cares—about each other and the people they serve—extraordinary things happen.  

Vishani is the Head of Recruiting and HR at BrightStar Care of Huntington Beach and Long Beach, bringing eight years of experience in connecting people with purpose-driven careers. With a passion for people and an eye for talent, she oversees all things recruiting—and does it with kindness, humor, and a smile. Inspired at a young age by the impact of compassionate care during her grandmother’s illness, Vishani found her calling in an industry that allows her to support families when they need it most. She loves being part of a company whose values truly align with her own, and finds joy in meeting new people every day. 

Biju is the Chief Strategy Officer at BrightStar Care of Huntington Beach and Long Beach, bringing over 30 years of executive leadership experience, including roles as CEO, CIO, and Chief Digital & Transformation Officer. Originally from Australia, Biju co-founded and successfully exited a tech startup before relocating to the U.S. 25 years ago. He officially joined BrightStar Care in early 2024—at the “insistence” of his wife, the CEO—and has since immersed himself in understanding the care we provide to our local communities. A lifelong learner with a passion for technology and innovation, Biju is especially interested in how AI can enhance healthcare delivery. 

As a Certified Agile Scrum Master, he thrives on developing strategies that help the organization grow and serve more people with compassion and excellence. Colleagues know him for his adaptability, wit, and deep commitment to continuous learning. Outside of work, Biju enjoys reading non-fiction, watching rugby and cricket, and bingeing on TED Talks and British crime dramas. A Taekwondo brown belt who also speaks Mandarin, he’s full of surprises—including his guilty pleasure: a three-scoop waffle bowl from Handel’s. His motto? “Doing it today is better than ‘will do it tomorrow’; doing it now is better than ‘will do it later.’” 

Laury has spent decades of her career in healthcare, including hospice care as a Physicial Liaison and in clinical research as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She worked on the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Clinical Trial during the Pandemic.

At BrightStar Care, she is part of a team that supports the community. She tries to bring her years of experience with patient contact to helping the team schedule events and contact key personnel in our client base. Our team values strong links with the healthcare community; She works hard to build and maintain relationships with physicians, colleges, medical care schools & skilled nursing facilities. 

When not working at BrightStar, she enjoys dining with friends & family, cooking, reading & movies.
