I met Helena from BrightStar Care when she stopped by ManorCare in Fountain Valley today. She explained their in-home caregiving and nursing services and offered valuable insights into our situation. I really appreciated how helpful she was. BrightStar Care seems like a great company and if we need home care, we’ll definitely choose them!

1 month ago, my husband and I reached out to BrightStar in need of assistance at home. Apisara joined our home and to say that we were pleasantly surprised that she has solved all of our needs in the most professional and pleasing manner. She quickly became part of our family.

Love that this agency takes a multi-faceted approach to addressing the needs of the aging through their podcast Keep Me Home Longer. “If you’ve seen one patient, you’ve seen one patient,” is a great quote from a guest that reminds us to focus on the unique needs of the individual in maintaining a fulfilling life in the home for our parents, grandparents, and others who may entrust us with their care.

Our caregiver, Lourdes, went above and beyond for us! We took her with us for our daughter's out of town wedding to help us care for my husband who has ALS. There were many challenges, but she faced all of them with patience and grace. We are so grateful for Lourdes!

The BrightStar team has been amazing in arranging a plan of care for my disabled mother. From the intake coordinators, to the Nursing Director, and especially our caretaker, Teodula, who has made every effort to make this transition as seamless as possible, we want to say thank you! Teodula is so warm and considerate to my mom, on top of all the tasks we’ve given. I am confident that my mother is in great hands with this team.

I had the opportunity and invitation to meet with and interview the owners of BrightStar Care of Huntington Beach, Lori and Biju Kewalram. I was impressed first by their tranquil office complex which communicated both confidence and care. This was fitting, given the fact that they run one of the most respected home care agencies in the Orange County area. While touring the facilities, I noticed that they even had their own dedicated training room for both orientation and ongoing training, giving credence to their slogan "a higher standard of care." The staff were friendly and the nurses competent and helpful. While there, an existing client came by the office simply to meet with one of the owners, Lori, in order to thank her and the team for the amazing job they are doing in providing personalized care at home for his mother. I have never seen that level of openness and transparency and desire to go out of one's way to express gratitude for a service provider. The only explanation I can surmise is that this client felt that Lori and her care team were more like family than a service provider. I then had the chance to sit down with the owners and discuss their reasons for opening a home care agency as well as their vision for the future of care and how they desire to help as many people they possibly can to grow old with dignity and independence in their own homes. One could sense the passion and authenticity during the conversation to be the best option for seniors in Huntington Beach and soon to be Long Beach as well since Lori and Biju plan to open up a new office location within the next month. I came away contemplative and reflecting on the power of friendship and the beauty of a life well-lived.

Steven has been an incredible help in getting my dad ready in the mornings. He is always kind, compassionate, and highly competent. His attention to detail and gentle approach make a real difference in my dad's day. We are truly grateful for his excellent care and support.
