At BrightStar Care, service is at the heart of everything we do. One of the most meaningful ways we give back to our community is through volunteering at the VA Fisher House Luncheon—a simple gathering that carries profound impact for Veterans and their families.
The VA Fisher House is a beautiful, welcoming place that provides a home away from home for Veterans and their loved ones while they receive care at the VA Hospital. Each luncheon brings together Veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces, along with their families, to enjoy a warm meal and meaningful conversation with staff and volunteers. Sometimes it’s Chick-fil-A, other days it’s pizza, and occasionally it’s something as comforting as coffee and donuts in the morning. No matter the menu, the real nourishment comes from connection.
Spending time at the Fisher House offers a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes. Listening to the stories shared by Veterans—stories of service, resilience, and family—gives us a renewed appreciation for the Armed Forces and the freedoms we enjoy every day. The kindness and compassion shown by the Fisher House staff only adds to the sense of gratitude and respect felt within those walls.
Volunteering at the VA Fisher House is especially meaningful to us because BrightStar Care proudly works with the VA to provide government-paid caregiving services to eligible Veterans.
