The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall direction of home care clinical services, the quality and adequacy of services provided, supervision of caregivers, and the coordination of care between services. The DON assures that all of the client’s needs are identified and addressed. Please note that BrightStar Care of Loudoun & Prince William Counties is a private duty agency that does not accept Medicare.
Director of Nursing / DON / Registered Nurse / RN Job Duties include:
- Create an Individual Plan of Care for clients and supervise clients' care
- Make the initial evaluation visit and regularly reevaluate the client’s needs.
- Initiate the plan of care and makes necessary revisions within a person-centered framework.
- Initiate appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
- Counsel the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs.
- Supervise, educate and coach nursing personnel.
- Assess competency of clinical staff and ensures staff is assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client’s care.
- Nursing: 5 years
- Phlebotomy, Wound Care, and Infusion Experience required
- Leadership: 2 years
- Valid and Current Virginia RN license
- Valid and Current CPR Certification for Healthcare Professionals
- Bachelor's Degree
- Salaried position with weekly pay based on experience
