How To Keep Your Sparkle During a Dull Pandemic: Exploring Positive Strategies to Cope with New Stressors

May 12, 12:00pm -1:00pm

The lives of children and adults were changed in an unexpected way as the COVID-19 pandemic began and social restrictions were put in place. Schedules have been completely altered as families remain confined to their homes, trying to adjust to new routines. Abrupt changes to routines are difficult for everyone and sometimes cause an increase in stress/anxiety or a depressed mood. In this presentation, NeurAbilities neuropsychologist and licensed professional counselor, Sara M. Shane, Psy.D. (a.k.a. “Dr. Sparkles”), will guide participants on a path to help cope during this pandemic by introducing coping strategies, those based in cognitive behavioral therapy principles, to decrease stress levels and improve overall mood.
