Educate to Empower! The College of DuPage will host the Certified Nursing Assistant Symposium on October 7, 2023 from 8:00 am until 3:15 pm. This symposium is the perfect place for CNAs to fellowship together and find ways to grow both professionally and personally, make connections, and rejuvenate as they are among peers and colleagues who share their passion for taking care of others. Just coming to this is being empowered! You've chosen to come to this big event! Embrace the day’s opportunities and enjoy the resources and peers that can help you learn and grow in your profession! Certified Nursing Assistants in attendance will harness the spirit of becoming lifelong learners, eager to find new ways to embrace opportunities to become more educated on nursing and healthcare. Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to:

• Attend educational breakouts
• Tour the College of DuPage’s Health Science Center
• Visit Clinical Partner tables and exhibits
• Visit with exhibitors and speakers
• Enjoy breakfast and lunch (both provided)

The Certified Nurse Assistant Symposium is free to all active CNAs and student CNAs. Those in attendance will also receive a certificate of completion. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment for Certified Nurse Assistants are anticipated to grow by more than 11% per year between the years of 2016 and 2026. If this projection is accurate, more than 2.4 million new jobs will be added for CNAs. The CNA Symposium has been thoughtfully planned in order to increase the knowledge and skills of the nurses who attend. With a growing need for CNAs in Illinois, BrightStar Care Naperville is happy to be part of this educational event for practicing CNAs employed in this community. This symposium will provide CNAs with knowledge and skills related to best practices in communication, geriatric care, and other healthcare-related areas. A variety of topics are on the agenda, including:

• Dementia care
• Palliative care
• Music therapy
• Cultural sensitivity
• Healthcare in 2030

The symposium also includes a tour of the College’s Health and Science Center. Attendees will be able to explore the state of the art labs, simulation centers and visit with healthcare representatives from
