At BrightStar Care of Northern Michigan, our caregivers are the heart of everything we do. Today, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Laura Olsen, a compassionate caregiver whose warmth, dedication, and love for helping others make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.
Meet Laura
Laura is a devoted caregiver who brings kindness and a genuine love for people into every shift. She is married and the proud mom of two children, one of whom is autistic—a role that has helped shape her deep empathy and understanding of individualized care.
A Day in the Life
Laura’s primary responsibilities include a variety of supportive, day-to-day tasks that help clients live comfortably and independently in their homes.
From homemaking and running errands to providing companionship, Laura’s role is all about being present and dependable.
“I’m just being there for them,” She shares—an approach that perfectly captures what caregiving is about.
Why Laura Loves What She Does
For Laura, the most rewarding part of her job as a caregiver at BrightStar Care is the relationships she builds.
“I just like being with people that enjoy me,” she says. “This is the best job I have had. I enjoy it the most. It makes me very happy to see others happy.”
The joy is felt by everyone she works with, and it’s what makes her such a valued member of our team.
Roots in Northern Michigan
Laura grew up right here in Northern Michigan. Although she moved away for a time, she returned to the area to marry her husband and now lives just down the road from where she grew up. Her strong connection to the community adds another layer of care and commitment to her work.
A Few Fun Facts
If there is one thing that might surprise people about Laura, it’s just how many animals she care for—and how much she loves doing it. Whether it’s people or pets, caregiving clearly runs in her nature.
And if she could be any superhero? Laura would choose the Scarlet Witch from The Avengers—a powerful, complex character who values loyalty and connection.
