To get hired as a caregiver or nurse with BrightStar Care of Northern Michigan, you must be properly trained, certified, and/or licensed, according to Michigan state law. You must also complete a background check, drug screen, and tuberculosis (TB) test and have current CPR certification with our home care agency.
If you’re working as a non-medical caregiver with BrightStar Care of Northern Michigan, you are not required to have formal licensure. Other caregivers—such as home health aides (HHAs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs)—may be required to complete additional state-approved training or certification programs to work as caregivers with us, though.
Yes, we have registered nurse (RN) oversight for our local care team in Northern Michigan. Our Director of Nursing offers clinical guidance and supervision for all caregivers and nurses, providing real-time feedback on how to deliver quality care. Additionally, our DON can help adjust care plans when a client’s needs or conditions change.
