At BrightStar Care of Northern Michigan, our caregivers make a difference every day through their compassion, dedication, and commitment to helping others. This month, we're excited to introduce one of our incredible team members, Caryn.

Caryn has been married for 41 years and is the proud mother of two children, grandmother to one grandchild, and dog mom to a beloved furry companion. Born and raised in Petoskey, Michigan, Caryn and her husband have deep roots in the community they continue to call home.

As a caregiver, Caryn's primary responsibilities include assisting clients with activities of daily living, providing memory care support, and meeting each client where they are in the moment. Whether she's helping someone get dressed, assisting with personal care, or simply engaging in meaningful conversation, Caryn approaches every interaction with patience and compassion.

When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Caryn's answer perfectly reflects the heart of caregiving.

"I enjoy doing good. When I get home at the end of the day, I feel accomplished and like I made the day better for someone. I love giving back, and I feel very appreciated."

Outside of work, Caryn loves spending time in nature. She enjoys camping, boating, and exploring trails in her side-by-side. Being outdoors brings her joy and allows her to recharge while appreciating the beauty of Northern Michigan.

A fun fact about Caryn? If she could be any superhero, she would choose Wonder Woman.

"She saves people, fixes things, and can fly away quickly!"

One of the most valuable pieces of advice Caryn has received came from her mother, who often said, "The older you get, the smarter I will be." Like many of us, Caryn didn't fully understand that wisdom until she got older herself.

And if Caryn had a spirit animal? Without hesitation, she says it's a monkey. She's loved monkeys since childhood and even preferred dressing them up instead of dolls when she was young.

When asked for her closing thoughts, Caryn shared a simple but powerful outlook on life:

"I just want to enjoy life every day."

Thank you, Caryn, for the kindness, positivity, and dedication you bring to BrightStar Care and to the clients you serve. We are grateful to have you on our team!
