If you’ve ever seen a smile light up a client’s face or felt a sense of calm settle into a room, there’s a good chance Judy had something to do with it.

Judy is one of our dedicated caregivers, specializing in supporting individuals living with dementia. She brings not only experience to her role, but a deep sense of empathy, creativity, and connection. Married with an incredible family of seven children, 27 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, Judy understands the importance of relationships and continuity—values that shine through in her work every day.

In her role as a caregiver, Judy goes beyond daily tasks. She makes it a priority to find common interests with her clients and build genuine bonds. One of her favorite ways to connect is through her love of nature photography—especially photos of the Northern Lights. She often frames and gifts these images to her clients, creating meaningful moments and lasting keepsakes that bring comfort and joy.

What Judy loves most about her job is simple, yet powerful: making people smile. For her clients, consistency and familiarity provide peace of mind, and Judy takes great care in creating routines and sticking to them. She understands how important it is for her clients to feel a sense of control and stability in their lives, and she finds deep purpose in being part of that.

Originally born in the Ypsilanti and Romulus area—where her mother is from—Judy later relocated to the Cadillac area, her father’s hometown, which she now proudly calls home.

A fun fact that may surprise you? Judy was once part of the Wexford County Search and Rescue Posse, serving on horseback—proof of her adventurous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others.

While she’s not much into cartoons or superheroes, Judy admires a literary character close to her heart: Mrs. Green Thumbs, a gardening character from books by Casandra Danz. It’s a fitting choice for someone who nurtures growth and care in so many forms.

One of the best pieces of advice Judy lives by is to see the world through others’ eyes. She believes empathy and compassion help us become less judgmental and more understanding—a philosophy that clearly guides her caregiving approach.

Her closing thought is a gentle reminder we could all use:

Take the time to let friends, family, and even acquaintances know they are important.

We’re grateful to have Judy on our team and thankful for the warmth, stability, and heart she brings to those she serves every day 💛
