Because caregivers are considered non-medical care providers, you are not required to have a formal license to provide in-home care. However, home health aides (HHAs) and personal care aides (PCAs) may be required to obtain additional training or certification.
To be hired as a caregiver or nurse with our South Brooklyn home care agency, you must be properly trained, certified, and/or licensed in accordance with New York state law. You must also complete a background check, drug screen, and tuberculosis (TB) test and have current CPR certification to be employed with BrightStar Care of South Brooklyn.
