For Ben and me, launching BrightStar Care franchise wasn't just a business venture—it was a mission to make a meaningful difference in our community. After years of building careers, raising three children, and supporting our own family members through medical situations, we wanted a path that aligned with our core values. We chose BrightStar Care to build a community-centered organization that supports local families through life's most vulnerable moments. I bring a blend of clinical insight, marketing experience, and local advocacy to our team. After earning my marketing degree and working in sales, I transitioned into healthcare as an ophthalmology technician to directly serve others. As our family grew, I turned my primary focus to raising our children while remaining deeply embedded in our community through active roles in local schools, non-profits, and our church. Ben complements this experience with a background as a corporate business executive. Having navigated the challenges of securing high-quality care for family members, he understands the issues and is deeply committed to being part of the solution. Alongside our dedicated team, we are focused on building a business that provides compassionate support to families in need, while ensuring that every client receives the dignity, comfort, and professional care they deserve. Outside of work, I enjoy time with our active children, who are now in high school and college. I value exercise, healthy eating, and time with our family and friends.

It is exciting to bring in home care to the Southern Maine area that truly focuses on the patients and families we are so privileged to serve. In addition to being an RN, I enjoy spending time with my large family, sewing, knitting, being outdoors, and thrifting!

My name is Dani Carter, and I’m the Director of Operations for Brightstar Care of Southern Maine. I take care of many of the behind the scenes, office-end activities like recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling to keep things running smoothly, but I also enjoy meeting with and working directly with our clients during initial “living room visits”, follow ups, or even occasionally as a Caregiver! While much of my educational and professional background focused on coastal and marine resource management, and my most recent work was administrative support for our local elementary school, I’m very excited to now be learning about the healthcare field and supporting my community in a whole new way. I live here in Yarmouth with my husband and twin daughters where I spend as much time as possible outdoors, preferably with family and friends, as well as reading, crafting or playing mahjong.
