On Veterans Day, our team at BrightStar Care of The Monterey Peninsula was honored to spend the day alongside local Veterans, families, and community members at the Salute to Veterans Jamboree, proudly sponsored by the City of Marina and hosted at the Veterans Transition Center (VTC).
This year, we did more than just attend — we hosted a BrightStar Care booth and had the privilege of connecting directly with those who have served and the loved ones who support them.
Coming Together to Honor Those Who Served
On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the VTC was filled with energy, gratitude, and community spirit from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Throughout the day, we watched families enjoy:
- Delicious food from local vendors
- Shopping with small businesses
- Bounce houses and live music
- Raffles and fun, family-friendly activities
It was a beautiful reminder that honoring Veterans can look like both celebration and support—joyful moments paired with meaningful resources.

Veterans Alley & Essential Support Services
One of the most impactful parts of the event was Veterans Alley, where Veterans could access stand down services at no cost, including:
- Free haircuts
- Eye exams
- Dental care
- Other critical resources and referrals
As a home care provider that works closely with Veterans and their families, it was inspiring to see so many organizations come together to ensure that those who served are seen, supported, and truly cared for.

Highlights from the BrightStar Care Booth
Our BrightStar Care of The Monterey Peninsula team loved meeting so many of you at our booth!
Here’s what we were excited to share on-site:
Honoring Service with Military Pins
We handed out special military pins as a small gesture of gratitude. Seeing Veterans, spouses, and family members proudly wearing them throughout the day was a highlight for our team.
Conversations That Matter
Our booth wasn’t just about giveaways—it was about real conversations. Many people stopped by to talk about:
- How to keep aging Veterans safe and independent at home
- Support options for spouses and family caregivers
- Short-term respite care for families who simply need a break
We’re grateful to everyone who shared their stories, asked questions, and trusted us with their concerns.
Supporting Veterans Through VA-Credentialed Home Care
As we shared at the event, BrightStar Care of The Monterey Peninsula is credentialed with the VA, which means we may be able to provide home
caregiving and respite services to eligible Veterans and their families through VA benefits.
At the booth, our team helped explain:
- How to get started with VA-funded home care
- Basic eligibility criteria
- What documentation may be required
- The steps to activate caregiving and respite services through the VA
We also answered questions about:
- Care coordination with the VA and other providers
- Insurance and coverage options
- Scheduling care that fits each family’s unique needs
Even if you didn’t get a chance to stop by or didn’t have time to ask everything you wanted, we’re always available to continue the conversation.
