At BrightStar Care of The Monterey Peninsula, we were honored to participate in the 2025 Veterans Stand Down and Resource Fair, held on Friday, April 18 at the Monterey County Veterans Services Offices in Marina, CA. This incredible event, hosted by the County of Monterey Military and Veterans Affairs Office in collaboration with Monterey County Stand Down, brought together an inspiring community of organizations united in one mission: to serve and support our veterans.
A Powerful Day of Impact
The energy at the event was heartfelt and humbling. From the early hours of setup to the final moments of tear-down, it was clear that this wasn’t just another outreach opportunity—it was a true lifeline for many. The Stand Down went beyond the basics, providing essential services and resources that touched nearly every aspect of a veteran’s life—from medical and dental care to legal assistance, job support, and of course, in-home care solutions.
We were proud to stand beside dozens of service providers, including CSU Monterey Bay, local colleges, legal advocates, mental health professionals, and other compassionate care teams, all working together to honor those who’ve served our country.
BrightStar Care’s Role
Throughout the event, our team was available to:
- Share information about our RN-led home care and personal care services
- Answer questions from veterans and their families about customized support options
- Connect attendees with care resources specific to their needs, especially those living with chronic conditions or transitioning home after hospitalization
We had the privilege of meeting incredible individuals—some eager to learn about their options for care, others simply grateful for a listening ear. These conversations reminded us why we do what we do, and how deeply personal and powerful home care can be when delivered with heart and professionalism.
