We’re excited to welcome Maria De Avila as our new Director of Nursing—bringing added clinical guidance and leadership to the care we deliver throughout the region.
Maria brings more than 38 years in healthcare, including 19 years as a registered nurse, with experience spanning:
- Critical care in the ICU
- Fast-paced decision making in the Emergency Room
- Medical-surgical bedside care
- Maternity and postpartum support
- Extensive senior care experience in nursing home environments
She’s known for her steady, compassionate approach and strong focus on patient safety—exactly the kind of leadership that strengthens outcomes and builds trust with families.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Maria helps patients and families feel informed, heard, and comfortable throughout every stage of care.
Investing in the Future of Nursing
Maria is passionate about developing the next generation of nurses. She has mentored nursing students from Cabrillo College, helping them build both clinical skills and the confidence that comes from real-world experience.
She earned both her LVN and RN degrees from Hartnell College and continues to bring deep expertise, warmth, and professionalism to every patient interaction—and to every team she supports.
