How We Started
Compassionate, Family-Led Home Care You Can Trust
At BrightStar Care of Westfield & Summit, we believe that every family deserves dependable, compassionate care that helps their loved ones live safely and comfortably at home. We are a locally owned and operated home care agency led by Stephen and Cynthia Timoni, a husband-and-wife team deeply rooted in the Westfield community.
Their daughter, Christina Timoni, proudly serves as Director of Operations, ensuring that every family receives the same level of care and attention the Timoni family would want for their own loved ones.
Our Story: From Personal Experience to Professional Purpose
The Timoni family’s journey into home care began from a deeply personal place. When Cynthia’s mother, a longtime resident of Westfield, was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, the family experienced firsthand how crucial compassionate and skilled home care can be.
After trusting BrightStar Care to care for their own mother, Stephen and Cynthia were inspired to continue that legacy of care — eventually taking over the BrightStar Care of Westfield & Summit agency in 2014.
Today, their mission remains simple yet powerful:
To help seniors and adults remain safe, happy, and independent in the comfort of their own homes — where life is most familiar and fulfilling.

As lifelong residents of Westfield and Scotch Plains, the Timoni family understands the value of community, connection, and trust. Stephen and Cynthia are proud members of the Sumit Elks, and Stephen has served on the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Board for more than 30 years, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to healthcare and local service.
