  • Lonny and Heather Kane

    owners of BrightStar Care© Lubbock
Lonny and Heather got married in 1993 in a small Southern Baptist Church in Gilbert, Arizona. Lonny had just graduated with a degree in Operations Management and a minor in Finance and Heather was working as an RN-BSN in the NICU at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

In March of 1997 Lonny and Heather had their first child, Annie. They decided at this point that Heather should become a stay at home mom while Lonny managed the Southern California border operations for Greyhound Lines, Inc. Three years later Lonny and Heather had their second child, Daniel, who was born with Spina Bifida. Their lives would never be the same, as they became faced with new challenges and ways of life.

Life was changing very quickly as Lonny’s career in Executive Management was just taking off, and Heather was trying to keep up with numerous doctor appointments, impeding surgeries, adapting to the special needs of Daniel, and keeping up a semi-normal life for Annie.

In 2005, Lonny accepted the position as Corporate President and General Manager for TNM&O Coaches, Inc. in Lubbock, Texas. Shortly after settling down in Lubbock, Lonny and Heather had their third child, Ella.  For years Lonny and Heather managed the exhausting challenges of work, home life, kids, school, and tailoring to Daniel’s special needs all by themselves. They finally came to a point where they realized they needed some help, so they started searching for home healthcare in Lubbock.

Through their search, Heather and Lonny realized that there was a deep need for quality home healthcare in Lubbock. An opportunity presented itself to Lonny and Heather to purchase a BrightStar Home Healthcare franchise. After speaking with other parents with children who have disabilities and realizing that they weren’t the only ones who were looking for better care for their loved ones, so they decided to purchase the franchise and made a difference in their community.

Looking back, Lonny and Heather realized that God was orchestrating their entire life to this point for this very purpose. He gave them the education, special training, and the heart to care for families with special needs. Additionally, Lonny and Heather are very involved in the children’s and youth ministries at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. They are also actively involved in Challenger Little League Lubbock and Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS.

Lonny and Heather feel incredibly excited and blessed knowing they have been able to align their family values with their professional lives and make a difference in the community.
