Compassion, integrity, family, excellence, trustworthiness, accountability, and diversity
Dave Drauch | Owner
As a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and owner of BrightStar Care® of the North Hills in Pittsburgh, my goal is to help seniors and disabled adults live comfortably and safely in their homes for as long as possible. My family’s personal experience caring for my son after suffering traumatic brain injury inspired us to support other families struggling to care for their loved ones at home by opening a new BrightStar Care office in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, PA.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Penn State and graduate degree from Lehigh University. When I heard about BrightStar Care, I decided it was a perfect opportunity to help families, create jobs, and give back to the community. While this is a second career for me, helping out families in need and providing quality jobs for our great staff is the most meaningful and rewarding work I’ve ever done.
Karen Pavlovic | Branch Manager
Karen serves as Branch Manager of the Brightstar Care North Hills office. Having served seven years managing another home health care office, Karen brings a wide breadth of knowledge and experience to the team. Handling everything from scheduling, client and staff communication, employee training and recruitment; Karen oversees all Brightstar empoyees. Although her job is a constant balancing act, she says her favorite part of her job is pairing the perfect caregiver with a client. “I just love when everything just…fits.” She says.
Karen received her BS in Recreational Therapy from Penn State University. She entered the home health field after seeing the benefits of one-on-one relationships. According to Karen, “When you’re paired with a caregiver – that’s YOUR person. You’re not sending someone into a nursing home with tons of other people.”
Michelle Brosky, RN, ADN | Director of Education and Training
Michelle brings over 25 years experience to the Brightstar team. As a certified CNA instructor, Michelle provides the education and training to Brighstar caregivers. Overseeing commission, infection, and staffing notes; she insures our caregivers are equipped with the knowledge to handle each case. When asked what she enjoys most about her job, she replies, “I just really love teaching. I love helping to fill in the blanks.” She believes proper training is the key to accurately assessing a situation and providing good care.
After earning her Associate’s degree in nursing from CCAC, Michelle went on to handle all aspects of the health field. Having served in critical care, long term care, and the home health field; as well as having dealt with pediatric head injury, trechs, and ventilators; she has experience in a wide range of cases. She is certified through the Department of Education at Penn State to teach CNA, CPR and first-aid training.
