Tracy Arends RN
How long have you been a Nurse?
I have been a registered nurse since 2011.
What experience do you bring to BrightStar Care®?
As a child I was always my Grandpa’s ‘nurse’. My grandmother would give me a little cup with my grandpa’s pills in it to carry to him on the sofa. This was always followed up by playing go-fish with my big, colorful fish shaped cards all afternoon. I had always been a care taker of sorts to friends and family since then. As a young adult I worked in the Special needs community at group homes in Wisconsin. After my enlistment in the US Navy I graduated with a degree in nursing from Arizona. I began working in a small town hospital on the Medical-Surgical floor which helped prepare me for working in the home health field where I found my home. Since then I have worked as a Specialty infusion nurse, caring for immune compromised clients in the comfort of their homes. As a nurse care manager I helped people in the community access resources available to them to ease their day to day living. I have conducted health fairs and flu clinics for the last 5 years which are always enjoyable. Training other nurses and supervising other staff members on my healthcare team in a proactive supportive manner has always been something I strive for since I became an RN. When we help and support one another everyone benefits, staff and client.
What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?
I am passionate about helping people in all communities, regardless of their circumstances, get the care they need so they can live their life with the dignity and respect they deserve.
