June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month

Every June, we come together to shine a light on Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. It's a time to recognize the millions of individuals and families impacted by memory loss, and to emphasize the importance of brain health at every stage of life.

The Facts About Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, affecting over 6 million Americans. It gradually impairs memory, thinking, and behavior, which eventually interferes with even the simplest daily tasks. It’s not a normal part of aging, and yet the risk increases significantly as we grow older.

The Power of Early Detection and Support

Early detection makes a difference. Recognizing the signs of memory loss early on allows families to access care, resources, and treatment options that can enhance quality of life.

At BrightStar Care, we understand how emotional and overwhelming an Alzheimer’s diagnosis can be. That’s why we offer personalized in-home care services designed to support both clients and their families. From help with daily routines to companionship and specialized memory care, our team is here to provide peace of mind.

Small Steps Toward Better Brain Health

While there is no cure yet for Alzheimer’s, research shows there are steps we can all take to support brain health:

  • Stay physically active
  • Engage in lifelong learning and mental challenges
  • Eat a balanced, heart-healthy diet
  • Prioritize sleep
  • Maintain strong social connections

It’s never too early, or too late, to invest in your brain.

Join the Movement

BrightStar Care is proud to work with the Alzheimer’s Association and sponsor our local Walks To End Alzheimer’s. You can help support by joining our walk team and/or making a donation. Together, we can raise awareness, support research, and honor the strength of those living with Alzheimer’s and the ones who care for them. Here is a link to our Alzheimer’s page.
