Chris Kapcar, Chief Technology Officer

In 2025, Chris Kapcar joined the BrightStar Care team as Chief Technology Officer, bringing over 30 years of technical acumen, entrepreneurial background, and product development experience. He’s passionate about building and optimizing teams, creating products, delighting users, and delivering business value, and he drives his team to create, run, extend, and scale web, mobile, and e-commerce platforms with urgency, adaptability, predictability, and quality.

Before joining BrightStar Care, Chris led technology at PeopleReady, where he drove efforts to transform a 30-year-old light industrial and skilled trade staffing company into a mobile-first, worker-centric, nimble, and values-based organization. At People Ready, Chris led a re-platforming project—taking a legacy platform to an AWS-native, microservice-based platform—that utilized machine learning predictions throughout the user experience, which resulted in a 50% improvement in worker reliability.

Prior to his work with PeopleReady, Chris worked as the CTO/CIO at EZLinks Golf, where he modernized the tech stack, built out product development teams, transitioned to cloud, and introduced predictable delivery processes for the brand’s TeeOff.com B2B2C marketplace, which led to a doubling of revenue over three years.

Chris was also the second technology hire at Redbox, where he spent 10 years wearing almost every technology hat imaginable as the company scaled from two kiosks to 45,000 kiosks, growing revenue to over $2 billion in a 4-year period of hyper-growth.

Throughout his career, Chris has built and led organizations made up of onshore, offshore, and nearshore functions across technology, including software engineering, DevOps, AI/machine learning, CloudOps, mIT Ops, InfoSec, architecture, product management, data engineering, data science and analytics, QA, PMO, and CRM.

He’s proud to say his teams have followed him from company to company over the past 18 years, and he believes they do so because of the strong culture/ethos, delivery processes, and track record of delivery and execution that they’ve been able to build together. “We get things done,” he adds.
