CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A CAREGIVER?
I have been a caregiver for about 20 years now.
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO BECOME A CAREGIVER?
It all began when my wife's best friend fell and broke her ankle and foot on her right leg. I discovered a passion for helping those in need. My wife also introduced me to BrightStar where I have been working for almost 2 years now.
WHAT ASPECT OF YOUR JOB ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT?
I am most passionate that the client gets the care that they need. Its very rewarding knowing you are making a change in someone’s life.
HOW ARE YOU MAKING MORE POSSIBLE FOR YOUR BRIGHTSTAR CLIENTS?
Making sure my patient knows I am there to help in any way, even if it’s for something small. For the patient to know I don’t want to take their independence away, but rather help them recover it and make the processes easier.
TELL US YOUR FAVORITE NURSING MOMENT/STORY
My favorite moment was with my first client when she declared that I was really making a change in her life for the better, which is my goal with every client.
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHER CAREGIVERS?
My advice to other caregivers is do the best you can with help from wherever you can get it, but especially from God.
HOW TO YOU RE-ENERGIZE?
I depend on God with prayers from relatives and friends for energy. I have been an usher and/or singer for Baptist and nondenominational churches over the last 30 years.
