Your Northeast Indiana Home care and Medical Staffing Providers: The Difference is in “The BrightStar Way” We Hire the Best of the Best We place only BrightStar-employed, experienced and compassionate caregivers. Every potential employee is subject to our rigorous hiring process that includes a criminal background check, motor vehicle record review, drug screen, three professional references, two face-to-face interviews, competency testing, and orientation. For every 100 people who apply to work for BrightStar, we hire only six or seven of the very best. In addition, each caregiver is insured, bonded and supervised by a Registered Nurse. We pay our staff higher wages than other providers because we target exceptional caregivers and have higher expectations of them. Registered Nurse Oversight of Every Case Our Director of Nursing, Stephanie Zishka, RN, is also an owner in the business. We provide RN oversight on every case. Direct RN supervision of every case raises the care we provide to a higher level and allows us to deliver exactly the right care to our clients. Live 24/7 Telephone Support No answering machines, no answering service. You will reach a live BrightStar employee every time you call (260) 918-0933, and we guarantee 24/7 access to an RN. Because We Care As part of our commitment to you, we continuously review all cases. We communicate any changes and concerns, discuss how we feel services are being performed, and listen to your input.
Steve Zishka | CEO / Owner
Stephanie and I started BrightStar of Fort Wayne in 2010. My mother and father both used home care, and we were well aware of the needs in our community for quality home healthcare. Previous to starting BrightStar I had worked in the wireless industry for over 20 years as an Electrical Engineer and in various executive leadership positions. My last position was as the VP of Technical Operations with Centennial Wireless in Fort Wayne, IN. We have lived in Fort Wayne for over 14 years and have two sons that attend school in Southwest Fort Wayne. We are so excited to bring a higher standard of home care to Fort Wayne, and the rewards of doing so for both our clients and employees every day has been truly amazing.

Jen Boylan | Branch Manager
I grew up in the healthcare industry with my mom being a nurse. I remember the passion she had for the patients she served and knew I wanted to be in healthcare. I fulfilled that dream with a background in Occupational Therapy. I have a passion for working with individuals who have a need to regain their independence and have the best quality of life. I have over 14 years’ experience in the healthcare industry and an extensive background in management. In my free time, I enjoy doing home renovation projects and attending college and NFL games!
As Branch Manager of BrightStar Care of Fort Wayne, I look forward to serving our clients, staff and the Fort Wayne community.
Tanya Croswell - Account Executive
I have been in the HealthCare Industry for over 25yrs. I started out as a CNA/QMA in a Long Term Nursing Facility, then worked my way up to Admissions and Marketing. I started with BrightStar Care Fort Wayne since 2014. Home Care has been so rewarding for me. I see the families when the current help is not going well or they have no help at all. I love seeing the stress leave their faces when I can assure them that help is on the way. In my free time, I spend my evenings and weekends watching my daughter pitch for her softball team.
Jenni Hart - Human Resources
I have worked for Brightstar for almost a year. Before coming to Brightstar I worked in management for 13 years. I enjoy working closely with employees to help with their personnel develop and support the connection between employer and employee.
Amy Maher - Alternate Director of Nursing (ADON)
Amy has worked in healthcare and as a nurse for over 30 years. Her experience has included trauma surgery, oncology surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, med-surg, and nursing education. She has been associated with BrightStar for 5 years and the past year she has served in the role as the ADON. She decided to make the transition from hospital-based nursing to home care because she appreciates the positive impact that home care providers have on the clients and their families. She also recognizes the importance of providing compassion and coordination of care through home care to foster the ability of the clients to remain in their homes. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, traveling, cooking, DIY projects, and cheering on her favorite college and professional sports teams.
