Meet Annette Morton,Our Fort Wayne Nurse of the Year Nominee

May 1, 2015
Every day, a growing number of dedicated nurses care for aging adults and people with complex medical needs inside their homes, administering daily medications, providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness, and managing personalized plans of care. To pay tribute to the specialized and tireless work of thousands of nurses throughout the network, BrightStar Care launched a national Nurse of the Year program to recognize the nurses who are working hard to deliver A Higher Standard of Home Care each and every day. This year, our Registered Nurse, Annette Morton was nominated. Here is the nomination letter about Annette: Annette Morton started with BrightStar in January, 2013. She exemplifies the BrightStar standards. Annette assists the BrightStar Fort Wayne clinical office with day to day tasks working with clients in the field and is multi-faceted. She is approachable, kind and compassionate.   Her mission is providing quality of life for clients by being a client advocate.  There are so many examples of times where Annette has went above and beyond for our clients including a client with Parkinson’s Disease who lives at home alone with little family involvement. Annette worked tirelessly working with the client’s medical team trying to get him on the appropriate medications and the appropriate medical interventions so that this client was able to live as independently and comfortably as possible. Annette emulates humility and professionalism. She continually keeps working toward positive client outcomes. She takes initiative to go above and beyond by communicating with physicians and others involved in client care. Not only does she implement our core values but she also follows up ensuring clients are receiving a higher standard of care.
