Throughout my nursing career, there was one thing I heard from patients over and over again: "I just want to go home." Whether they were recovering from an illness, managing a chronic condition, or simply facing the challenges that come with aging, home was where they wanted to be.

Those conversations stayed with me.

Before opening BrightStar Care of Appleton, I spent years caring for patients as a Float Nurse and Infusion Nurse before moving into a Clinical Educator role. Every position taught me something different, but the most important lesson was that healthcare isn't just about treating a condition—it's about helping people live the life they want to live.

As a nurse, I saw firsthand how difficult it could be for families to navigate care after a hospital stay or as a loved one's needs changed. I also saw how much of a difference the right support could make. Having someone there to help with daily tasks, provide companionship, or offer skilled nursing care can be the key to helping someone remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.

That's why I opened BrightStar Care of Appleton.

Today, I have the privilege of helping seniors, veterans, and families throughout the Fox Cities and surrounding communities find the support they need to remain where they most want to be—at home. I am passionate about providing care that is not only professional and reliable but also compassionate and personal.

As a locally owned business, our team is committed to treating every client like family. We understand that inviting someone into your home is a big decision, and we work hard every day to earn the trust that families place in us.

When I'm not working, you'll often find me out in the community connecting with local organizations, attending senior events, and building relationships with others who share a passion for helping people age safely and comfortably at home.

After all these years, the words that inspired me still guide everything we do:

Erin Straughter is a caring and dedicated registered nurse with an Associate Degree from Fox Valley Technical College. With over ten years of experience in healthcare, she brings a wealth of knowledge in skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care

Erin is known for her warm and compassionate nature, always going the extra mile to create a comforting, supportive environment for her patients and their families.

In her free time, Erin enjoys painting, watching sports, and spending time with her family. She’s married with two young children, and their family also includes two adorable pets, Sasha and Benny.

Erin’s passion for nursing shines through in her commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to everyone she works with.
