We have had the privilege of working with Brightstar of Barrington & McHenry for the past 3 years. No words can express how grateful we are for the quality help we are getting - esp. from Stellar CNA's David N., and Jake H. The care they give to my husband who has had Parkinson's for 20 yrs, is beyond what we thought possible. They treat Larry (and me) like family, looking after his every need and safety - which in turn relieves my daily stress. I trust them ! They are both solicitous to ask us both what extra they can do to help. In addition to the Activities of Daily Living, they take him to Physical Therapy, Doc appts., and occasional golf - no easy task since he is at greater risk for falls. They are innovative, and deal graciously with all of the contacts at Larry's outside appts. They both have an attentive one on one relationship with Larry - and the bonus of shared interest in sports and golf ! we couldn't ask for more!! Our thanks and appreciation also go out to the staff : Gina, Nurse Mgr, Stephanie, Customer Care Mgr. , and Owners Jeff and Karen, who have worked with us over the past 3 years - esp. to meet our increasing needs. BrightStar Care of Barrington exceeded all our expectations. Our family expresses our sincere appreciation to all the staff, for your help in taking care of our Dad in his last week while at home. Your skilled nurses were fantastic, and we can't say enough about Nurse Lillian "Lily", who provided extraordinary and over the top care care for our Dad. She even provided him with her own wedge pillows to make him more comfortable. We, and our Dad, were fortunate to have her for those 3 days. All the BrightStar nurses were instrumental in giving our Dad the best and most compassionate care, and taking care of all of his needs. Thank You.

It is with great pleasure that we write a review of BrightStar Care. Our beautiful father was diagnosed with ALS this past September and as he began to lose the ability to care for himself, we as a family did the best we could to meet his needs. After a short time, we became desperate for some help. A friend recommended BrightStar to us so we called and talked with Rachel. Within a matter of days we were assigned a caregiver. We did not have any experience with caregivers, and had no idea what to expect. When our caregiver, Lawrence, arrived at our home we knew immediately that he was going to be as devoted to our father as we were. Lawrence has the kindest manner and made our father and our family feel confident that he was getting the best care possible. Lawrence went above and beyond for us. He even helped us with a plumbing problem. Our wonderful father passed away on November 16, 2022. Lawrence was scheduled to care for our father that day. When he arrived at our home that morning, we broke the sad news to him. He was so upset, and stayed with us for several hours and shared in our grief. He even offered to come back and help us with anything we might need. Lawrence attended our father's wake, which was a great comfort for us, as he had become like family. We will be forever grateful to BrightStar for matching us with Lawrence. We highly recommend BrightStar.

BrightStar of Barrington was definitely a Godsend from the start! We were lucky enough to be assigned Austin for the care of my father that was in hospice. I was amazed that my father even asked when he was due to return. Austin took the time to care and make him know someone was listening. There were several times that my Dad felt pain and Austin rushed over and held his hand. You cant learn that type of caring it takes a special individual. I would highly recommend the company and Austin. Thanks you for making my father's journey a bit more tolerable.

I would give BrightStar Care of Barrington 10 stars if possible. We recently needed hospice care for my beautiful dad and BrightStar was there to help in every way. Two of the caregivers, Austin Bailey and Nakiah Whitehead, were absolutely outstanding and amazing. They were empathetic and caring. I was sitting with my dad a week ago by his bedside and crying and Nakiah came over to me and was so comforting. She said the kindest and most compassionate words that helped ease the pain. Austin was kind and go with the flow and took such good care of my dad. Words can't express my gratitude to both Austin and Nakiah for their help, kindness and caring toward other human beings. The world needs more people like them. Thank you.

I am SO grateful to have found BrightStar Care. We hired them for my grandmother following a nasty fall that put her in the hospital for a week. Owner Karen, and nurse Gina, came to the hospital for an evaluation of what my grandmother's needs would be when she was discharged later that day. Their evaluation was very thorough, both of them took time to answer all of the questions we had, which were a plenty having never needed to use such a service in the past. Not once did we feel rushed or as if were just another check in the bank. I figured we would have to wait a couple of days to begin care, but to my delight BrightStar had someone available that very evening. All of the caregivers arrived on time and stayed through their entire scheduled shift. We had one issue, with one caregiver, but upon reaching out to Stephanie, the sweet woman who does their scheduling, it was immediately corrected, and Karen issued us refund and apology for the shift that caregiver was scheduled. That is above and beyond what was expected. I cannot say enough about Stephanie. We were incredibly unsure of what to commit to as far as how long and what shifts we needed care. She offered suggestions of what other families have done based on their own needs and helped to develop a schedule that fit our specific needs. My grandmother was very indecisive about what she wanted and often would change her mind, something I know complicated scheduling, especially through the holidays. Stephanie's patience exceeds any expectation I could have had. There was a day Jeff, Karen's husband and business partner, called my grandmother to see how she was doing about a week after we'd started service. He thought she sounded a bit confused, and out of sorts when he spoke with her. He checked in with me to let me know and to ask if we would benefit from extending the hours she had someone there with her. We ended up deciding that was a good idea, and Stephanie had a new schedule to me by the next morning. I would recommend BrightStar to anyone in need of professional care for a loved one. Each of the CNA's we had were angels, but my grandmother most enjoyed Shirley. She was truly a life saver when it came to assisting her the first week or so. I could not have done what she did!

Although having only used BrightStar for a couple weeks for my mom, I can only say that they have been wonderful. From the first time Jill and Gina came out for the initial sign up to all the caregivers my mom has had 24/7. My mom was comfortable with all of them.

BrightStar Care is the best place to work if you enjoy helping others & like a job that shows their appreciation to their employees. Jeff, Karen, Gina, Stephanie, Rachel and Cindy are so amazing to work with!

We put BrightStar in an almost impossible situation as we quickly needed lots of care for a family member. They worked so hard and made it happen. Gratitude is not a strong enough word to convey our thanks. Our caregivers were wonderful and we especially could not have survived without Kim, Kyra and Jessica. You will always be in our hearts ladies.

Ari has been caring for my mom for over 7 months and has been the most reliable and dependable of all the caregivers we have had. She is kind and caring to my mom as well as proficient in her skilled care abilities. She communicates well to me when I call and takes a leadership role in the daily notes to the other caretakers. We feel blessed to have Ari on our team.
