Keegan Wendel
Scheduling CoordinatorKeegan was born and raised West of San Antonio, Texas. She received her Bachelors in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio with the intent to pursue her Master's in occupational therapy. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she was asked to step in to be the Office Administrator/Receptionist for her father's Veterinary Practice. To her surprise, she found herself enjoying an office position, but also thoroughly enjoyed assisting her father's aging clientele with more than just Veterinary care. This sprouted the desire to serve the senior community in some way moving forward.
Thrilled that her long-time significant was given the opportunity to attend Texas A&M to get his PhD, she relocated to College Station to support him. Shortly after moving, she took a job in caregiving and fell in love with the industry. After a year, she knew she wanted to advance and get back into the office, so she decided to get her Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare management to allow her to learn the business side of healthcare.

Alisha Williams
Recruiting and Training ManagerAlisha was born and raised in Bryan/College Station, TX. She has 3 beautiful daughters who are most important to her and who she loves very dearly. Alisha graduated from Bryan High School in 2006, where she played basketball on varsity all four years. In 2007-2009 she attended Blinn College in Brenham majoring in Kinesiology. Soon after graduation, her grandmother became sick and Alisha felt called to help take care of her. What she remembers most is helping her dye her hair black like she liked it and painting her nails at least once a month. It always made her grandmother feel extra special. In 2019, Alisha started working at a nursing home while getting her CNA License. Working at this facility she saw how things were done right and unfortunately how things were often neglected. She knew she wanted to be the type of employee to go above and beyond, taking pride in doing everything right.
Also in 2019, Alisha started her own business as a personal trainer, which is also something that she is very passionate about. She says that being caring and making people look good and feel better is her divine purpose in life. She enjoys all types of training from basketball training, to weight loss or gain training and most importantly geriatric training, which is helping older clients rebuild muscle and mobility, and overall staying active and healthy. So, when she found out about BrightStar Care she knew that this opportunity would be the perfect fit for her as a caregiver. The very first client she worked with had to do daily exercises, had great conversation, and enjoyed playing board games. It was a perfect fit. She had that client for a year and enjoyed what she did whole heartedly. After working at BrightStar for a year she was promoted to Customer Care Manager. She knows most of the caregivers, she has also filled in and worked for most of the clients so she knows them personally and most importantly she will make sure we are giving the absolute best care, with the best caregivers on the job. She is a highly motivated, organized person with tremendous patience and compassion.

Darla Todd
Branch ManagerDarla and her husband were both born and raised in Bryan/College Station, and both have many family members that are local to the Brazos Valley area as well. She has watched all the growth in BCS over the years, and the community members who choose to live here are very near and dear to her heart.
Her dream has always been simple: to help others. A proud Aggie, Darla received her Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 1995 with hopes of pursuing a Master’s in counseling. However, life took her in another direction due to her growing family and she moved several times in the next several years while her husband completed his advanced degree. She has been with her husband for over 3 decades now and has found opportunities to contribute in the community through many volunteer opportunities.
Now that her children are grown, she is excited to give back to the Brazos Valley community she loves so much by joining the Brightstar Care team!

Jennifer Lewis, M.A., CCC-SLP, CDP
Owner and AdministratorJennifer has been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 1994. She was working in a hospital in San Antonio in March of 2020 when Covid 19 caused a universal lock down. Watching her patients spend days and nights alone in the hospital without the support of their loved ones, she saw how much more desperately patients wanted to leave the hospital, and family members begged to let them come home. Having worked in Home Health as an SLP earlier in her career, she began to consider the possibility of returning to that work, but with a greater mission. Simultaneously, Jennifer and her husband had decided to join some of the Lewis family living on a joint property in Washington County. Through her pursuit of finding meaningful work in Home Health in the Brazos Valley, she discovered the opportunity to own and operate BrightStar Care of Bryan/College Station.
Jennifer has always had a passion for learning, continuous improvement, and personal development. She also has consistently pursued leadership opportunities throughout her lifetime. Most recently, that drive has led her to become a Certified Dementia Provider and to join the Board of Directors of the newly established Dementia Friendly Bryan/College Station, an initiative with the mission to create an inclusive and supportive environment that empowers individuals living with dementia and their care partners. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, Dementia Friendly BCS strives to enhance awareness, understanding, and accessibility within our community, fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and dignity for all.
Serving as an Ambassador for the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce, Jennifer has immersed herself in the Brazos Valley business community with the goal of learning how she and her team at BrightStar Care can positively impact the lives of all who may need Home Care or Home Health Care in Bryan/College Station and surrounding communities. She believes home-based care is one of the most important and rapidly evolving parts of our healthcare system. As care continues to shift into the home, the opportunity to improve access, outcomes, and the patient experience has never been greater.
Although Jennifer continues to maintain active Speech-Language Pathologist License and Certifications, her mission now, as Owner and Operator of BrightStar Care of Bryan/College Station, is TAKING CARE OF THE PEOPLE WHO TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE in the place they call home. It is a joy to cultivate a team of nurses, therapists and nursing assistants who recognize the privilege we have of being welcomed into homes and creating a healing environment for our clients during their most vulnerable time. It is an honor to partner with family members and provide relief. It is a pleasure to facilitate our client’s Best Life.
