March is Social Worker Appreciation Month. We at BrightStar Care Cedar Rapids/Iowa City appreciate our social workers in the community daily, but love that there is a month devoted to expressing that appreciation in a special way.Social workers are in nearly every setting that we work with in home care from the initial referral to ongoing communication with them when they are involved in the day to day care of a client such as in an assisted living facility or health care center. We are able to have dialogue with them regarding a client’s needs or concerns from both parties.
Social workers are imperative to helping someone navigate the complicating structure of health care and directing them towards what may be helpful to serve those needs.
The world is a better place because of the caring, empathetic, hardworking social workers that are looking out for the people of their communities and we want to thank them for their diligent work each and every day.
