As Nurses Week 2026 comes to a close, our hearts are full of gratitude for the incredible nurses who make nurse-led care possible for families across South Charlotte. Each day this week, we highlighted one of our remarkable nurses, sharing just a glimpse of the impact they have on our clients, their families, and our team.
At BrightStar Care of S. Charlotte, our nurses are more than clinicians – they are leaders, mentors, problem-solvers, and steady sources of comfort in some of life’s most vulnerable moments. Their commitment to providing nurse-led care with heart, excellence, and compassion is the foundation of everything we do.
Kicking Off Nurses Week With Leadership: Sophia, RN
We began Nurses Week by recognizing our Director of Nursing, Sophia M., RN. Sophia brings years of clinical experience and a deep well of professionalism and compassion to our team. She consistently gives “120%,” leading with integrity and modeling what it means to put patients first.
Sophia never asks our nurses to do anything she would not do herself. She is the person our team turns to for guidance, support, and mentorship, and she is always ready to step in and help without regard for her own convenience. Her bedside manner is inspiring, and the insight she brings to every clinical decision is truly priceless.
Honoring Loyalty and Heart: Beth, RN
On Day 2 of Nurses Week, we celebrated Nurse Beth, RN. Beth has been part of our team for more than two years, and even while on maternity leave, she continues to respond quickly to calls and texts because she genuinely cares about her clients and teammates.
Beth is a certified pediatric nurse with a loyal, dedicated spirit, and she pours that same passion into caring for our adult clients as well. Her heart for nursing and detail-oriented approach to care are evident in every interaction, and the love and attention she gives our clients never goes unnoticed. As a former Director of Nursing and now a Nursing Support/Mentor, she continues to strengthen and guide our nursing team.
A Decade of Dedication: Ashley H., RN
Day 3 spotlighted Nurse Ashley H., RN, who has been faithfully serving our clients and team for a full decade. Ashley is the nurse we know will pick up the phone and say “yes” when we are in a pinch, showing up again and again when her team and clients need her.
Ashley provides remarkable comfort and stability to her long-term clients, demonstrating unmatched loyalty and dedication. Over the years, she has trained and supported countless nurses in infusion therapy and general nursing practice. One unforgettable example of her commitment: Ashley once mowed a client’s lawn when he could no longer manage it due to his diagnosis—going far beyond her clinical duties to preserve his dignity and independence. She is truly one of the “OG” members of our BrightStar Care family, and we look forward to many more years together.

A True Team Player: Linda, RN
At the midpoint of Nurses Week, we recognized Nurse Linda, RN. Seven years ago, Linda walked through our doors with a warm laugh and a caring spirit, and we knew immediately she was someone we wanted on our team.
Linda is devoted to quality care and always asks, “What do we need for the business? I can help.” To her, BrightStar Care is not “the company” but “our company,” and she invests her energy, ideas, and time as a true partner in our success. Linda became a nurse later in life, and we are all better for it—she brings Florence Nightingale principles into every shift, combining classic nursing values with modern, person-centered care. Her laughter, teamwork, and steady presence have shaped our culture for seven years and counting.

Consistency and Compassion: Aisha K., LPN
On Day 5, we turned the spotlight to Nurse Aisha K., LPN, who has been with our agency for seven years. Aisha is the very definition of consistency for the clients she serves, many of whom have relied on her for weekly skilled nursing visits over multiple years.
She meets each client with a ready smile and a calm, compassionate demeanor. Even during seasons of personal adversity, Aisha continues to show up, ensuring every visit is completed thoroughly and professionally. Her ability to balance family, work, and life with grace has made a meaningful difference to our clients and to our team, and we feel incredibly fortunate to walk alongside her in providing nurse-led care.

Calm in Every Storm: Amy, RN
Day 6 was dedicated to Nurse Amy, RN, who has been part of our team for more than two years. Amy’s “superpower” is her calm and steady demeanor; whether she is navigating an unexpected situation in the home or an adventurous trip abroad—like her recent travels to Japan—nothing seems to rattle her.
Amy takes time to assess each situation carefully and respond with confident, compassionate care. Clients appreciate her professionalism, her thoughtful communication, and the sense of safety she brings into their homes. Her quiet strength and reliability exemplify the kind of nurse-led care our families count on.

Dedication and Drive: Sunny, RN
As Nurses Week drew to a close, we celebrated one of our male nurses, Sunny, RN. Sunny originally joined our team as an LPN and later earned his RN license, demonstrating impressive determination and a commitment to ongoing growth.
He is working toward his goal of becoming a Trauma Flight Nurse, and along the way he brings enthusiasm, humor, and heart to his work with BrightStar Care of S. Charlotte. Even when juggling multiple responsibilities, Sunny is quick with a smile and uses his sense of humor to put clients at ease. His passion for helping others shines through in every visit, and we are truly grateful to have him on our team.

Grateful Today and Every Day
Nurses Week 2026 may be officially wrapped, but our appreciation for this incredible team is year-round. Their compassion, skill, and dedication are at the heart of every visit, every plan of care, and every family we serve.
To each nurse on our BrightStar Care of S. Charlotte team: thank you for leading with heart, excellence, and compassion—and for reminding us, every day, what exceptional nursing looks like.
