Steve VogelOwnerSteve grew up in Colorado Springs. His Father was a career Air Force Officer and Fighter Pilot. Steve’s two sisters and Mother also live here in Colorado Springs. After graduating Air Academy High School, Steve earned a BA Degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
After college, Steve spent 30 years in business. Working in logistics, supply chain and information technology, leading teams in business development, general management, operations, and sales. In recent years, some of Steve’s immediate family and close friends experienced health related issues that became life changing events. Families had to change the way they lived to care for their loved ones and accommodate the effected family member and provide the necessary care and resources.
Steve saw this as a calling. Helping people and families care for loved ones, relieve stress, and improve their quality of life by providing a higher standard of companion and health care services in their home. Families need empathy and support to successfully manage and cope through these life altering events. Steve feels humbled and privileged to provide these services to the greater Colorado Springs communities.
Janie CarterRN Director of Nursingcame to BrightStar Care with extensive hospital and home care experience. Janie loves making more possible for families who want to stay in their own homes. Janie joined BrightStar so she can utilize her skills to train and supervise our field staff and work directly with clients to provide the best care possible in the home.
Alicia McCallCommunity Development Managerhas had many years in the healthcare industry in Colorado Springs. She has been the BrightStar liaison with the community for 2 years.
As a teenager she went to California to have surgery by a specialist. That specialist had a liaison, Mary Fran F., which connected families and patients with the resources they needed. Mary Fran made the whole process go much smoother for those in need of help. Meeting Mary Fran gave Alicia a deep passion to do a similar job someday. Her position at BrightStar gives her the perfect opportunity to fulfill that passion.
Angela HarperOffice ManagerAngela received her Bachelors in business management from BYU-Idaho and worked for a multi-national software security firm before coming to BrightStar Care. Her favorite part of her job is being able to support her co-workers so that they can provide outstanding care for our clients. Angela’s strength is her ability to track and monitor any issues and compliance concerns. Angela choose BrightStar because of the culture of caring.
Nicole FlesherClient Care CoordinatorNicole loves connecting with the community and getting to know all of the different personalities that it entails. Nicole is passionate about talking to clients and getting to know them. Her unique strengths would be her fun personality and her goal to make a difference in someone’s day. When a client calls in and they are having a hard time/bad day Nicole makes it her mission to help them accomplish what they need to and make them feel a little better.
Amy ValerioRecruiterAmy has worked in assisted living and home care for 21 years, so she knows a lot of the rules in the business. Amy has a lot of experience working out in the field and she knows how to teach and provide a higher standard of care. Amy is passionate about every client being taken care of, and believes that in order for that to happen the CNAs and Caregivers and all staff need to be taken care of as well. Amy feels BrightStar care has been a fun experience while learning new things. When not at work Amy rebuilds classic cars and shows them off at community events.
