We have been working with Brightstar for 10 weeks at the time of this review. We were referred to Brightstar by Care One rehab facility in East Brunswick. We needed around the clock aides to care for my father. He is elderly, and recently broke his hip for the second time in 8 months. Dad was placed in a memory care facility for dementia. His case is complicated, he is blind and nearly deaf. He had his days and nights flipped plus had combative behavior on admission to the memory care unit. We requested to have a set schedule of Brightstar aides in a weekly schedule for continuity of care. After 10 weeks, all 4 aides are the same each week. We are very pleased with the quality of the aides. They all are experienced with dementia. We requested clear English speaking women, without heavy accents. This is due to Dad’s impaired hearing. Some of the women do have accents but they do slow down and speak up to facilitate communication with Dad. It is working well enough. All of the aides get along very well with dad. They are mindful of his dementia diagnosis. Because he is blind, he needs help with all activities of daily living, including diapering, transferring and moving within his room, and assistance with meals. They aides are very responsive to his needs and understanding of his situation. They advocate for him. Dad went from swatting and fussing at the aides (10 weeks ago), to him thanking them and kissing their hands regularly! He has good days and bad days. I especially like that they encourage Dad to be as independent as possible and they make sure he is comfortable, clean, and feeling safe. Mom visits Dad daily. She feels the aides are highly-skilled professionals, kind and they know how to help people. These aides helped Dad to settle into his assisted living accommodations. They are compassionate, they look out for my Dad as well as my Mom. These aides were taking care of a combative patient ten weeks ago. We give them credit for helping Dad settle down. The reasons above are why they earned a 5 star rating from us. I also very much like that a nurse from Brightstar has visited to check in on Dad regularly. We recommend them for provisioning skilled dementia aides.

I used BrightStar Care in East Brunswick as I required physical therapy at home for 2 weeks after my knee replacement. BrightStar immediately sent a nurse (Danielle) whom was very friendly and helpful out to my home. The next day they sent out a physical therapist (Nora) who came to my home and she was absolutely wonderful. Nora worked with me in showing me exercises and helped with my pain relief. Nora understood my pain and helped me to progress to the next level. She was always so sweet and understanding when answering all the questions I had, which were a lot. Since I have now started outpatient therapy in week 3 they told me they were very impressed on how far along my progression was in the first 2 weeks after surgery. Thank you BrightStar!!
