Our Staff at BrightStar Care® Gastonia

Cari Sanders, RN and Director of Operations, has been with BrightStar Care of Gastonia since April 2014. She started at the age of 17 as a CNA with Llanfair Retirement Community in Cincinnati, Ohio, where her mother was the Director of Nursing. She went to the University of Cincinnati for Business Marketing/Management and graduated in 1990. During her 15 years for the CCRC, she decided to go to nursing school. She graduated in 1999, and began working at Christ Hospital. Marriage and two kids later, she decided to leave the hospital setting and put her marketing and management skills to the test. So, she went to work 8 years for a private physical therapy company in Cincinnati until she was approached to partner with colleagues on starting a new home care company in the area. Once established, her family was asked to transfer to Charlotte, North Carolina for her husband's position of 38 years with Duke Energy as Manager of Safety and Health. Cari has had an early found love for geriatrics, and has continued with servicing that population through-out her entire professional career.

Pam is a native of Illinois, wife, mother of two, and grandmother of one brings over 20+ years of healthcare experience to BrightStar Care. As a child, her dream was to become a nurse, following the footsteps of her grandmother and mother, who were both CNA's. Pam started her healthcare journey in 1995, where she began working at Gaston Memorial Hospital (GMH) as a CNA. During her 12 years for GMH, she continued her education and received her diploma in Medical Office Transcription in 1999. In 2006 she decided to go to nursing school. After obtaining her LPN she went to work for Peak Resources in 2009 and continued there while she obtained her RN. In 2014, she left Peak and began working for BrightStar Care. She plans to further her education to obtain her BSN in the near future. Pam's continued passion to help people and provide quality care for people in the community make her a great part of BrightStar Care.

Julie grew up just outside of Gaston County in Lincolnton, NC. She is a wife, mother of three, and brings her 18 years of healthcare experience to BrightStar Care®. She began her healthcare journey as a CNA I on the medical/surgical unit of Gaston Memorial Hospital. She became a CNA II in 2003 and transferred to the Birthplace at Gaston Memorial Hospital, where she worked until becoming an RN in 2010. Julie started her RN career at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain as an RN Supervisor. She worked with the Humana at Home program and gained experience in the home health world as a Case Manager. She came to BrightStar in March of 2018 and works daily to ensure our seniors live safely and independently as possible in the home. Julie's favorite saying is "Be confident yet humble". 

Hali was born in Cincinnati, OH but moved to Huntersville, NC in 2012 with her family. She graduated from UNCC in 2020 with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and is considering returning to school for a degree in Meteorology. She has a creative mind and loves challenging herself. She has always found an outlet in being creative and has found that same outlet in marketing! Hali always strives to be positive and kind to all things. Her favorite saying is, “Kindness is free to give, but priceless to receive.”
