Steve brings a lifetime of experience in healthcare, leadership, and service to his role, along with a genuine passion for caring for others. He and his wife Dana recently relocated to the western United States after spending more than 50 years in Iowa, where they built both their family and their careers. He and his wife Dana have four sons and 4 grandchildren.

As a licensed physical therapist, Steve dedicated his career to helping people live healthier, more independent lives. Together, he and Dana grew their physical therapy practice from a single clinic into 14 locations, eventually merging with a larger organization in 2018. Steve continued to play an instrumental role in expanding that company to nearly 70 locations across multiple states, always with a focus on quality care and meaningful patient relationships.

At the heart of Steve’s work is a simple philosophy: treat every client and team member like family. He is deeply committed to providing compassionate, dependable, and “above and beyond” service—values that are especially important when caring for individuals in the comfort of their own homes.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys staying active, exploring the beauty of the western U.S., and cheering on his two sons in their basketball careers at the collegiate and professional levels. Most of all, he treasures time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dana, our Chief Financial Officer and co‑owner, brings more than three decades of comprehensive financial expertise to the organization. Her background spans public accounting, business valuation, auditing, and financial management. She has worked as a certified public accountant and has held key leadership roles, including Executive Accountant and Controller within healthcare and therapy organizations. In these positions, she oversaw budgeting, payroll, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning.

Known for her precision, professionalism, and strong analytical skills, Dana supports organizational goals with a methodical, solutions‑oriented approach. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a double major in Finance.

Outside of work, Dana enjoys spending time with her family—including her four sons, their wives, and her grandchildren. She loves traveling, walking, and occasionally hiking, always finding opportunities to stay active and explore new places.

Christopher brings nearly two decades of healthcare expertise to the team. With 18 years of experience across diverse clinical settings, he's developed a sophisticated understanding of patient needs and a reputation for delivering excellence. Christopher believes that while every stage of life presents unique challenges, there is always a path toward a solution. He is deeply committed to providing the compassionate, personalized care that ensures every client we serve feels seen, heard, and supported. When he's not in the office, you’ll likely find him working out or enjoying quality time with his family, as he believes staying active and connected is the best way to recharge.

With a robust background spanning 13 years in acute care nursing and home health, Katie possesses a unique blend of expertise. Her extensive experience equips her to effectively address the chronic health requirements of our patients while remaining attentive to emergent acute situations and adeptly managing them. Though her journey began in hospital settings, she found her true passion in home health. Katie's goal is to uphold safe patient practices and deliver care that exceeds expectations, ensuring optimal well-being for those under our care.

Tracy brings over 22 years of nursing expertise and has dedicated her career to helping others. She has a strong foundation in working with others and showing compassion and empathy to her clients. She spent 10 years at a level 1 trauma center where she learned critical thinking skills. Tracy also worked 12 years in hospice, where she learned patience, advocacy and how to think out of the box. Tracy strives for excellence and improving client outcomes while being focused on patient-centered care. Her goal is to give the highest quality of care by hiring the best nurses for Brightstar.

Shannon has been a registered nurse since 2013. In that time, she has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals and The United States Armed Forces in a civilian capacity. Over half of her career has been spent serving the pediatric population, which is her delight. Shannon is a fierce advocate for patients and is passionate about improving healthcare outcomes. She is recognized for fostering a collaborative team focus through servant leadership and is committed to leading with integrity, respect and compassion. Shannon currently is at the end of completing specialized healthcare operations leadership training through the Certified Applied Healthcare Operations Professional program with the CAHOP Institute here in Phoenix. 

With 12 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Jody is passionate about building strong community partnerships and connecting families with compassionate, personalized in-home care that supports independence and dignity. A longtime Arizona resident since 1999, Jody brings dedication and insight to ensuring clients receive reliable, high-quality support tailored to their needs. As a devoted wife and mother of two, she draws genuine inspiration from helping families thrive at home, just as she values for her own loved ones.

Eva brings 10 years of customer service experience and 8 years of valuable experience in the healthcare field. Her diverse background has given her a strong understanding of both the importance of exceptional service and the unique needs of individuals and families navigating healthcare.

Prior to joining our team, Eva worked in primary care as a Scheduling Lead and also served as an Activities Coordinator at an assisted living facility. It was through her experience in assisted living that she discovered a true passion for working with seniors and individuals with disabilities. She found great fulfillment in building meaningful connections and helping create positive experiences for those in her care.

Today, Eva combines her healthcare knowledge, customer service experience, and genuine compassion for others in her role. Her goal is to help coordinate high-quality, compassionate home care that allows our clients to feel supported, respected, and cared for in the comfort of their own homes. Eva is passionate about making a difference for the individuals and families we serve and takes pride in helping connect clients with the care and support they deserve.

Kassandra brings a strong foundation of leadership, organization, and operational expertise to her role. With more than four years of experience as an Operations Manager in the healthcare industry, she understands the importance of keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly while maintaining a high standard of service and professionalism.

Known for her excellent analytical and planning skills, Kassandra approaches challenges with a thoughtful, solutions-oriented mindset. Her keen eye for accuracy and exceptional attention to detail allow her to effectively manage priorities, anticipate needs, and ensure that important details never fall through the cracks.

Kassandra’s combination of operational experience, organization, and commitment to excellence makes her a valuable part of our team. She is dedicated to supporting both our staff and the individuals we serve, helping create an environment where quality care and exceptional service

With more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, Rachel brings a wealth of compassion, dedication, and hands-on experience to our team. Rachel has worked in assisted living facilities, where she developed a deep passion for supporting seniors and helping individuals maintain dignity, comfort, and quality of life.Throughout her career, Rachel has also spent 10 years caring for individuals living with dementia, as well as supporting hospice patients and their families during some of life’s most important and challenging moments. These experiences have shaped a compassionate approach to care and strengthened her appreciation for the importance of patience, empathy, and treating every individual with dignity.

A proud Arizona native, Rachel was born and raised here in Arizona and is honored to have spent their career caring for others in the community they call home.

Angelina Quinonez serves as the Administrative Assistant. After spending the last 14 years in an education or legal profession, she made the choice to pursue a new and rewarding career. Currently, she is in the process of completing her bachelor’s degree in business administration, which she knows will be a great benefit in this field. During her free time, she loves to hike with friends, read, and travel with her husband.

Sandra began her healthcare career at 17 yrs old working in a front office. She has since held many clerical positions in the medical field with over 18 yrs experience. Along with sharpening her skill set, this journey has also taught her to have compassion not only with patients but also her fellow colleagues. She believes its important to treat people with respect and dignity, no matter the person. Sandra believes you have to be the change you want to see in the world and it begins with day-to-day interactions. Her goal for the company as the Revenue Cycle Specialist, is to conduct a thorough review of all payors to be sure claims are being paid correctly while maintaining an organized system. 

Betzaida "Chai" Villavert brings over 10 years of experience in recruitment, customer service, and client relations to the BrightStar Care team. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Human Resource Associate (CHRA) certification, she leverages her strong understanding of human behavior to connect the right people with the right opportunities. Her experience in full-cycle recruiting, along with her background in customer-focused roles, allows her to balance technical hiring needs with a compassionate, people-first approach.

Betzaida believes that building strong teams starts with meaningful connections. She is passionate about helping individuals grow in their careers while supporting BrightStar’s mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality care. Her goal is to bring in dedicated healthcare professionals who make a positive impact in the lives of the clients and families we serve.
