The difference between an in-home caregiver and an in-home nurse is the type of care they’re allowed to provide with BrightStar Care of Hudson / Solon.  

Our caregivers can only provide non-medical care, such as light housekeeping, transportation to and from errands, and assistance with personal care needs. But our nurses can provide medical care, such as wound dressings, medication management, infusion therapies, and post-surgical condition monitoring.

You do not need to obtain a formal license to work as a non-medical caregiver in the state of Ohio. However, BrightStar Care of Hudson / Solon does require all caregivers to have current CPR certification and pass background checks, drug screens, and tuberculosis (TB) tests to work with our local care team.
