Patrick and Patricia opened BrightStar Care of Hudson/Solon after multiple decades of combined experience in the healthcare industry. Patrick, who holds an MBA from The University of Akron, spent 20 years as a Group Controller for a global medical device company and Patricia BSN, RN has an extensive healthcare background in acute care, home healthcare and geriatric care. Interested in going into business for themselves, the Wethern’s were attracted to BrightStar Care due to its business model that focuses on providing the highest standard of care for a wide spectrum of health needs and the accreditation requirement from the Joint Commission.

I have been working in this industry for the past nine years, and I have primarily focused on scheduling, payroll and human resources. I have worked at a few different facilities in these areas, and I joined BrightStar in 2021 as a part-time scheduler. Since then, I have been promoted to full-time, and eventually to my current role, Director of Operations.

I graduated from nursing school in 1983.  I have been an RN for 40 years and I still enjoy my work! I have worked in the medical ICU for 7 years, in the emergency department for 14 years, and Hospice for 15 years. 

I joined BrightStar Care in June of 2017 as an infusion nurse and became the Director of Nursing in November 2019.  

I enjoy spending time guiding staff members, clients or family members on performing new skills. I love to see their confidence and comfort grow after mastering tasks.

I take a hands-on approach with staff, assisting whenever needed. I want staff to feel comfortable asking questions, presenting concerns, and finding a solution together.  I encourage staff to come to the office for a visit any time. My goal is to provide a fun and comfortable work atmosphere.

I take great pride in my journey as a nurse – from starting my career 7 years ago to being appointed as a Nurse Manager at Brightstar Care 3 years ago. As a Nurse Manager, I have the privilege to help train and mentor nurses in their field while continually developing my own skills and expanding my knowledge in nursing. I feel lucky to have a job where I get to meet and help so many different people every day! Each of their stories is unique, and truly inspiring.

I am passionate about helping others. I have many years of experience in the field of nursing. It has been a rewarding journey, as it was a “later in life” choice to become a nurse. I am so happy to have been able to join the Brightstar Care of Hudson team. I truly enjoy the work I am doing and the wonderful clients I have helped. I am so thankful for all the meaningful connections I have made and the memorable moments I have experienced. I have knowledge and experience in secretarial, service, and logistics, which I use in my current role in office support as Care Coordinator. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with my peers as well as our patients.

I have been in the healthcare industry for about 11 years now. I started as a caregiver in facilities, and then I started doing care for clients in their homes. I found my passion as a young aide after taking care of my grandfather, who was diagnosed with cancer. As I got older, I wanted to be able to help others just like I helped him. “I love what I do, and I am very passionate about what I do as well. The best part about my job is being able to help others and put a smile on each of my client’s faces.” Even as a scheduler, I will still step out into the field to help service others.

I joined Brightstar Care of Hudson/ Solon to help a community find compassionate and skilled care for their loved ones. My goal is to present an option for care to those who need companionship or assistance and to showcase a wonderful opportunity to those who want a rewarding career. Our local communities are filled with loving families who are searching for trustworthy, quality care for special people in their lives. My experience at Brightstar Care has been a pleasant one. The team is friendly, compassionate, and helpful.
